Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Sanchez.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Being a Miami native, I was able to witness much of the city’s real estate development. The city’s constant growth and fast pace environment intrigued me and made me gravitate towards a career choice in real estate. But it wasn’t until I took a Real Estate course at Florida State University that I genuinely started considering Real Estate as my career path. Upon achieving my Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from FSU, I moved back home to Miami, where I found myself working in the marketing department for an established local real estate company. The time with this company served me well, and it awakened my passion for the industry. I then decided to get my Real Estate License and have been a Realtor Associate ever since. I am very passionate about my career and love introducing this beautiful city to others.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Each real estate transaction is different, and I always find myself learning something new from each deal. Real Estate is a challenging and competitive field that requires agents to continually educate ourselves, analyze the market, make ourselves available to clients, be diligent and disciplined. I understood that before I got my license that the glamour presented to the outside is part of the business. Meanwhile, the real challenges happen behind curtains, where we agents have to apply our knowledge and relationship skills to help our clients with their transactions. In that same sense, that is what I would advise any young woman or man who is just starting their journey. Upon getting your license, be selective, and seek real industry experts to guide you and be your mentors. Make sure that you trust their expertise and learn as much as possible before starting to work directly with clients.
What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
Although I have been able to help clients with their transactions, all over the city, I specialize in three central Miami neighborhoods: Brickell, Coral Gables, and Coconut Grove. What sets me apart is understanding how the advancements in technology help me market properties through many digital platforms. I know how to give listings the right exposure to connect with possible buyers. On the personal side, I am very organized, and I treat all my clients as if it were my transaction. I believe my organization skills alongside my technology and market understanding are among my most significant assets I can offer my clients.
What do you feel are the biggest barriers today to female leadership, in your industry or generally?
The obstacles that I’ve faced are part of the daily challenges of the industry, and I choose to meet them as such and not attribute them to my gender. That helps me overcome them.
