Meet Nathalie Filossaint of C.A.D. Fitness in Deerfield Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathalie Filossaint.

Nathalie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I got into fitness summer of 2010, I used to run track and we had got this new coach, his name was Coach Smith. He was more about techniques, weight training, and beach trainings, all these types of training I wasn’t used to it. I was just used to getting on the track, running til they said stop. So, here this man, go introducing me to a whole new world and as I kept training with him, my body started transforming. And of course, I love the transformation, so fresh out of high school, I want to get certified as a personal trainer. It’s a good feeling to know that you’re helping somebody build their self-confidence, helping them get a healthier lifestyle, helping them look great naked. I find it crazy how in this day and age people do everything but put in the work to actually lose weight and gain weight, they’re trying Apetamin, waist beads, all kinds of teas or whatever they see the celebrities advertising on IG, but won’t put in the work. When people think about working out, they think omg, I hate the gym but in all reality, the gym is not the problem, THE KITCHEN IS WHERE THE PROBLEMS STARTS AND END. If y’all learn to put the fork/spoon down, I promise after that, your fitness journey will be a walk in the park. You can find a million reasons why you can’t get started but all YOU really need is ONE good reason to get started and that reason is your health. “Anybody can lay up under the knife to get the body they want, but it takes a strong-minded individual to work for the body they want.”

Has it been a smooth road?
My fitness journey has definitely been a mind change for me. Training before I had my daughter was a piece of cake, training after birth is a whole different story. I went into the gym thinking that I can still do what I used to do before having my daughter. Boy let me tell you, I had the messed up, I was short of breath, I couldn’t go as many reps are used to, here I am thinking like damn, the moms on Instagram make it look so easy but in reality, I’m out here struggling to get through one set. So, I had to start off slow go back to functional training before hitting the weights again. I myself had to learn to put the fork down because the Lord knows I love to eat. As women/mothers, we tend to put everything else before ourselves and we tend to ourselves last. Ladies, we need to take care of ourselves, no excuses, I am a full-time mother, a full-time worker but make time to work out and take care of ME. You probably have 1 million reasons why but in reality, we make time for what we want. Your body is a representation of you. What is your body saying about you today?

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies. With that being said, you are renting your body, treat it good. It doesn’t matter how you get started, all that matters is that you started. Let’s not wait for the new year, go start your fitness journey today.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the C.A.D. Fitness story. Tell us more about the business.
As a personal trainer, I do my part to make sure that you’re physically able to perform daily tasks without wanting to die, the goal is to make you look good and feel great. I specialize in weight loss and body toning. However, I am known for these legs of mines, I don’t see the hype, lol, I mean they alright to me. What I feel sets me apart from other trainers is that when I look at a client, you’re not just a number. I actually care about you wanting to get the results that you came to me for, seeing a client transformation excites me and makes me feel like I’m doing my part. I’m always rooting for you, I do daily check-ins, rather it’s in the morning, afternoon, evenings. Send me a picture of what your eating, did you go to the gym today. Yes, I’m that kind of trainer. I stand behind my brand 1,000,000% C.A.D. Fitness stands for Consistency, Accountability, and Discipline.

Those are three main keys to me which will lead you into a successful fitness journey. If you’re not consistent, then you’re not gonna get the results that you want, if no one holds you accountable, then you’re going to think it’s okay to cheat here and there if you’re not disciplined, then all your hard work is pointless. And that’s where I come in to make sure that you’re staying consistent with your eating and your workouts, I hold you accountable “oh, you ate number one today, okay meet me in the gym at 6 pm, “and this is where the discipline takes place. Always remember you’re not cheating your trainer, you’re cheating yourself.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I believe success is defined by who you are and the person you aspire to be. Success is measured differently for each person. What may be a small accomplishment for one person can be a huge milestone for another. Someone once told me to treat all your accomplishments the same, no matter how small they may seem. In today’s society, people are always comparing each other’s success but the goals you set for yourself can only be achieved through your own hard work and perseverance. Be proud of what you do so that no one can belittle your goals and dreams. Whenever I achieve a new objective, I am grateful because now I know that I am one step closer to conquering my overall goal. We all want to be successful and everyone is more than capable of achieving it. Ultimately, you alone define success and that is what gives you your own sense of purpose and motivation to conquer the obstacles that are ahead. To be successful is to prosper in life and everything/everyone you touch will prosper as well.
