Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Jeane Ehrenreich.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Lisa Jeane. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started out as a lawyer that simply wanted to make a difference and an impact in the world. My original plan for attending law school was to be an environmental lawyer. But life it turns out had different plans in store for me.
For various reasons, I went to work at a large law firm in a different area of law. I learned and grew professionally in leaps and bounds. After several years of working in a “corporate style” firm, I decided to take the jump into business ownership, and I opened my own law practice with two partners.
We had incredible success within a short period of time and before I knew it, I was the deemed CEO of a multi-million-dollar business! This time around my professional growth was in quantum leaps!
But I also simultaneously experienced mountains of stress and anxiety. I was an undiagnosed “workaholic”. And I knew I wasn’t making the difference or impact I wanted and felt called to do.
My personal relationships suffered greatly. My health suffered. My creativity, motivation, and inspiration suffered. The unique spark that made me well, me, also suffered.
After years of being a highly successful lawyer and business owner, I felt completely out-of-balance, burnt out, unfulfilled, and stuck.
During some reflective thinking one afternoon, I had a flash of sudden insight; it was my “ah-ha” moment! I realized that I was not happy practicing law and that I had never really been. And that my “future self” would be highly disappointed if I stayed working in a career that I felt so unfulfilled by, so out-of-balance and unlike myself, and that caused me so much stress.
Shortly after my “ah-ha” moment, I made a sudden, drastic and courageous decision. I walked away from the law, my business, and my business partners, having no idea what I was going to do next. I’m not going to sugar-coat it; it was an extremely scary and uncertain time in my life!
However, it was also perhaps the best decision I’ve ever made! After spending time getting my feet back under me, I dove head-first and full speed ahead into personal and spiritual development. And I sincerely and passionately fell in love! It resonated with every fiber of my being. It touched my spirit and my heart. And I knew that I could make the kind of difference and impact in the world that I’d always felt drawn to do.
To solidify my passion and put my experience to good use, I became a Certified Mindset and High-Performance Coach and Business Mentor. I now work with other lawyers and professionals who feel unfulfilled, burnt out, out-of-balance or stuck and need some support and guidance to help them move powerfully forward – to be more successful!
I now work with a smile on my face. I’ve found coaching to be one of the most fulfilling and transformative processes that I could ever work in, for both my clients and for me. I love and am passionate about what I do, feel like I sincerely make a difference and impact, and I can’t wait to see how many lives I’m going to ultimately touch and transform!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has been a winding road filled with many unexpected twists and turns!
My biggest struggle to overcome: Fear! Which showed up for me as insecurity, uncertainty, and self-doubt. When you decide to do something new, to completely change your life and future with no certainty of outcome, success, or support along the way, it is downright scary!
To get through the fear, my advice is to allow yourself to feel it, to tap into it. And then to “re-purpose” your fear. It takes consistent self-work and practicing self-love, but you can turn your fear into your greatest motivator and inspiration. I highly recommend mentally re-framing your nervousness and doubt as excitement and possibility!
You also want to check-in with yourself frequently and ask, am I happy? am I fulfilled with what I’m doing? If the answer is no, I recommend looking forward, connecting with, and thinking about what your “future self” would say to you if you were to remain on your current path. What changes might they recommend? What actions? What would be the result if you didn’t act?
Lastly, when you decide to pursue a passion or a dream, financially, it may not be easy. My advice is to financially prepare. Be smart and take calculated, strategic risks.
If you don’t have savings, financial support, or another line of income, don’t just up and quit where you are to pursue your passion. Instead, be strategic, be smart! Plan for how you can move forward without undergoing unnecessary financial hardship and stress!
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m a Certified Coach and Business Mentor.
I work with lawyers, and growth-focused professionals and entrepreneurs, who feel burnt out, stuck, out-of-balance or unfulfilled to define their next level, and create a clear plan to reach it quickly and easily – while becoming more balanced and fulfilled!
I work with clients to transform in the areas of:
– Mindset
– Personal Performance
– Mindfulness
– Professional Performance
I specifically work with clients to gain clarity about where they are now versus where they want to be, set personal and professional goals, and create a plan to take powerful action forward.
I am most proud of the transformative results I have helped my clients achieve. It takes true inner-strength and courage to step into your power, into your authentic truth and to make the internal and external shifts necessary to change your life!
I am most proud of the transformation I help my clients achieve. It takes true inner-strength and courage to step into your power, into your authentic truth and to make the internal and external shifts necessary to change your life. And the fact that I get to personally guide and support my clients on this journey is a source of immense pride!
What sets me apart from other coaches is my experience and background. At one point, I wore the exact shoes that my clients walk-in today. This allows me to deeply connect with and empathize, not just sympathize, with my clients.
I’m also a non-practicing lawyer with an extensive business and management background. I owned and ran a multi-million-dollar 40-person business.
I bring this extensive and unique business background, knowledge and experience to all my clients as a resource!
So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well-positioned for?
With the advancement of our technology and the advent of instant communication and shared knowledge, there is literally no limit to what women can be, do or become!
Virtual technology is giving women the freedom to work from anywhere – home, a co-op, a coffee house or even while traveling.
Women have the opportunity to now work virtually for someone else, or to start and run their own highly successful business – straight from the comfort of their own home.
I believe technology is allowing women, especially working moms, to completely break through the former male-dominated business hierarchy!
