Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominic Ferri.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Dominic. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As a child, I was inspired by the wizard Merlin in the old Welsh legends for his ability to see the future and perform his magical abilities. Everything about him inspired me, and I always wanted to emulate his character when I perform. Everyday, I would practice so that I can show my audience the best experience of magic. The type of magic I do is inspiring. What I mean by that, is if you have an opportunity to show someone something amazing, you should make it as impactful and as inspiring as possible. You never know if you have the chance to change someone’s life.
In High school, I organized a Magician’s Club for younger novices to learn and expand their craft.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As an artist, it is a really intense struggle that leaves you wondering if you should quit. However, I always kept pushing to where I am now and am continuing to push because I love what I do. Every second of everyday, I try to get myself known. If you are an artist, you should know that it will always be a tough road and won’t get any easier. If you continue to follow your dreams and your passions, you will see the importance and the meaning in your struggles.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a multi-talented performer that specializes in Sleight of Hand, Mentalism, Hypnosis, and Fire performing. I always continue to try to learn more so that I can give people a variety of different performances.
In my free time, I write books for other magicians to learn from me. I do this because I want people to learn more about how my mind works and to inspire other performers to create their own work.
Is there a quality or characteristic that has played an outsized role in your success?
I feel as though I am very mysterious person and very charismatic. The key to my success is being happy with what I do. My grandparents always told me that if I love what I do, I will never work a day in my life.
