Meet Eugenia Károlyi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eugenia Károlyi.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I am Venezuelan by birth and a citizen of the world at heart. My multicultural nature is inherited from my Hungarian, Bulgarian, Spanish and American relatives who migrated to Brazil and Venezuela during World War II.

A natural communicator who has worked in all branches of media in the United States, Latin America, and Spain. I graduated Cum Laude in Journalism and Mass Communication from Florida International University, have a Masters in Film from the Miami International University of Art and Design, and further studies in Marketing and Sports Management from the European School of Economics in Madrid.

I consider myself a sports business entrepreneur and all around sports content enthusiast. As a journalist, producer, and presenter, I’ve had the opportunity to travel all over the world, creating content on all major sports for top sports media and brands.

During the World Cup Brazil 2014, my expression during a match between Brazil and Mexico went viral in a matter of hours, and I was chosen the “Girlfriend of the World Cup ” that year.

I love sports, watching and playing them. My whole family is into equestrian showjumping, a sport I have practiced and competed in my whole life. Both my brothers are in the Venezuelan National Team that will compete this summer in the Panam Games in Peru.

I founded and run The Sport Socialite, my sports media production company and specialize in “branditorial” content. After many years on focusing mainly in European football, I am now Head of Content at BASE International, the marketing and production agency of the WBSC, World Baseball Softball Confederation. A New challenge that has got me really excited for all the tournament coming up, and also because it’s my first International Federation position, considering my dream is to become the first female president of FIFA.

Please tell us about your art.
My art is to bring people together through sports. I always strive to get the people watching my content through a screen, as close as possible to the experience of actually being at the event itself. In my opinion, sports have the greatest power to bring people together, regardless of their race, nationality, gender, or religion, and that is the main reason why I am so passionate about sports.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
Constant changes and access to information, the world is evolving so fast that we are currently looking for new stimulation. Artists need to keep up with a fast-paced society and constantly creating new concepts to keep their audiences interested and engaged.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
My website is thesportsocialite.com, but I am always updating my followers through social media, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter mainly: @eukarolyi.
