Being a leader, a CEO, and a personal brand is never an easy road. Some are not cut out for it. You have to be honest, strong, work hard, never give up, and take the good with the bad. As I said, I have seen many fizzle out and give up. Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
Im like a heat-seeking missile in networking. I dont go for free food or drinks. Time is money. I go in, locate the lead decision makers, introduce myself, swap info, and then follow up with them a few days later. Networking is an art-form. I can be an energy and time drainer if not done correctly.
