Meet Adassah Pierrelouis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adassah Pierrelouis.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
As a young girl born in a strict Haitian household, all I knew was “Lekol, Legiz, and Lakay.” In translation, that means, “School, Church, and Home.” My mother made sure I placed my education and spiritual life in the forefront. Growing up, she’d always mention how I’d have to work much harder than any other person to get what I want in life. Now I understand what she meant by that because I balance the life of an elementary school educator and makeup mogul.

While attending Florida Atlantic University in the summer of 2009, I began to watch makeup tutorials on Youtube. My interest began to spark when I bought my first eyeshadow palette and dived head first into the world of beauty (I still have the palette it in my collection till this day!). By continuously watching endless tutorials and reviews, I began to practice on myself. While teaching myself the tricks of the trade, I created a YouTube channel of my own. In between my classes, I would film and edit videos for my channel. Practicing on myself then lead to practicing on my friends. From practicing on friends, that lead to other people seeing my love for makeup on Youtube and them asking me to do their makeup for special events. Everything was literally a domino effect. From then on, I never looked back. My admiration for beauty skyrocketed beyond what I could have ever imagined. I emerged from being a makeup amateur to becoming a makeup mogul.

Faces of Royalty is my where my makeup artistry skills are displayed. I can literally remember practicing on the faces of my friends in my college dorm room. Now, I am blessed with the opportunity to be booked for birthdays, proms, weddings, and many more. Making my clients feel like royalty keeps me driven and focused on my end goal. Every girl in the world should feel like royalty.

She Is Royalty showcases my passion and love for makeup, music, and my Haitian culture. On this platform, I simply get to be me, Royalty! Being royalty isn’t only subjected to how I look. It’s my spirit, energy, and mannerisms!

Please tell us about your art.
Makeup is not simply applying products to your face. It is a form of expression. Makeup is my art. My face is the canvas, and I create the masterpiece.

Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
Do not let the finances stop you from achieving your goals and aspirations! Use the resources you have until you have the means to get what you need. Step by step work towards your goal, and soon enough, you’ll reach your success!
