Today we’d like to introduce you to Rogelio Urbina.
Hi Rogelio, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Nicaragua, I came to the United States when I was 14 years old, I come from a middle family, my mother worked a lot for us to school, I graduated from high school at Sunset senior high school, when I finish high school I wanted to study culinary arts and so I always had that influence from the kitchen for my family I graduated from Le Cordon Bleu, and later I went to work for five years at the 5-star Mandarin Oriental hotel it was a fantastic experience, I worked for the best hotel in Florida and the best Peruvian restaurant in Miami La Mar at Brickell Key chef Diego Oka and Fiorela Cornejo helped me a lot, I learned a lot from them to become a better chef and to have more passion for the kitchen, I met the best chefs in the world such as Massimo bottura, Daviz Muńos, Gastón Acurio and many more, chef Diego oka made me go to Peru for one month to work in the best restaurants in Peru it was an incredible experience I learned a lot but on the other hand I dedicated myself to social media Instagram I put many photos a day and people liked my post of what I did, where I went to eat, where I traveled, so I grew a lot in my social networks until a beer company called Patagonia made me a contract on Instagram.
I really like it, I have a YouTube channel that is dedicated to planting vegetables and some experiences where I travel, I started that channel during the COVID 19 pandemic, that experience helped me a lot with my vegetables I went out in the morning and it was like a meditation, on the other hand, I had to leave the kitchen because I felt that I did not spend time with my family and I decided to leave the kitchen and decided to do a real estate and work in Novecento, an Argentine restaurant In Key Biscayne I work at the front on the house thanks to Javier Cividini for giving me a second chance at his restaurant, I feel super good now I have more time with my family, I like real estate a lot I have met many people I like a lot and I want to grow more in this industry I am preparing to become a real estate broker.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think how I told you the most difficult thing was to say to leave the kitchen, I love to cook being in the kitchen making new dishes, I decide this to spend more time with my family now I cook for my family and friends I am their chef Hehehehe.

I love what I’m doing right now my YouTube channel it has 3000 followers right now, I like to teach people how you can grow at home vegetable and have organic vegetables, elsewhere Instagram I reach more people right now I have 40,000 followers I like it to post things that people like and that they can learn something from me, I like people to learn things from me to have their own vegetables I am very proud of what I am doing now. on the other hand, in real estate, I feel good when my clients buy their first house, I feel very happy for them

I would like to have a farm and teach people how you can grow vegetables at home and have your own vegetables that I would like to be soon.
