Meet Wendy Pomeranz of Antidote Styles in Broward- Lighthouse Point

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wendy Pomeranz.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Wendy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Welcome to Antidote Styles! After a few years abroad, keeping myself busy as a stay-at-home with volunteer work and travel, I wanted to try something new. Something to put myself out there that would help others and allow me to explore one of my passions – fashion!

And AntidoteStyes was formed. The business provides an opportunity to connect with women (moms in particular) who want to improve their everyday look. I help edit closets, curate looks, shop for fabulous outfits or key pieces, all within a defined budget.

I love that Antidote Styles provides an avenue to connect with women and help create smiles and confidence.

Thank you for supporting me in this new journey!

Has it been a smooth road?
This new venture has introduced numerous challenges and pushed me to step outside my comfort zone. How do I market this business? Quote prospective clients? Balance my other responsibilities – mom, wife, house, etc.? As I have discovered, the confidence in building a business comes from awesome client feedback and establishing valuable relationships.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Have you ever stood in front of your closet and thought “What am I going to wear” or “I don’t have anything in my closet”? After a few minutes of feeling lost in YOUR clothes, various feelings enter – frustration, overwhelmedness and self-doubt – and more than anything, our confidence to get dressed goes away. And what’s the result? Yoga pants and a tank top.

After having my baby boy (toddler now), I struggled with getting dressed every morning, finding the right motivation to feel great and rediscovering my own style without having “mom-guilt”.

Let’s be honest – it exists!

Even with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and years of working with retailers, I still felt like I had lost my touch. I remember wishing I could call someone I trusted, not a friend that would empathize with my feelings, but someone I could bounce off my style ideas and who would be honest about my style/cuts.

Antidote Styles was created to help women feel empowered, confident and most of all, beautiful in what they wear D A I L Y. As a personal stylist, I serve you, the woman who wants to feel great about her style and help you navigate your closet, and feel confident in what you buy.

We offer a variety of services – wardrobe edits, personal shopping, packing for a family trip – to name a few. Typically, clients start with a wardrobe edit as that provides a baseline from which we start from. Clients can expect to spend a minimum of three hours editing the wardrobe, choosing pieces to keep or donate (we partner with some great organizations!), reorganizing pieces and most importantly, showing you new styling tips. All clients receive access to my app, which offers a personal “Look-Book” of existing pieces and a “must-have” list with wardrobe essentials

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
100%! South Florida is the best place to start a new business. It’s a melting pot of many different cultures, which comes with the desire to fulfill the needs of them.
