Today we’d like to introduce you to Tohni Jean Bellis.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Tohni. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started from my family business from my mother, a dressmaker and my father, a tailor. Fashion has always been in my entire life. I attended college and obtained a degree in Fashion.
After working with artist and socialites as a fashion stylist, I opened a vintage showroom supplying the music and culture with one of a kind vintage that landed TohniStyle Showroom one of the best-liked Vintage in Fort Lauderdale by City & Shore magazine. I started blogging in 2011 as a hobby to have a forum for a lifestyle of vintage, fashion, beauty and lifestyle community.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The journey has been great however not without obstacles and trials and tribulations. I had my share. In between motherhood, postpartum depression and a two years later filming a Reality show for TLC I FOUND THE GOWN while having a wedding and then losing my beloved father the following year after walking me down the aisle. I can say this would have done me in. I took these struggles and allowed myself to heal and took time off from blogging and got back to it. My commitment to my blog community helped also.
My advice is to allow life to happen to you. At times, you have no choice but to deal with it. You can still take steps to getting your goals in order and remember dreams are beautiful when nurtured. You can do whatever you want with planning and proper steps.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about TohniStyle – what should we know?
TohniStyle blog is a lifestyle blog for those who enjoy luxury lifestyle and savings.
I am a lifestyle influencer and blogger.
I am also a residential/luxury realtor – home stager. I love helping people find their dreams homes and create beautiful spaces.
I’m most proud of helping people to succeed and provide great information on how to live a luxurious lifestyle while saving money. Luxury is a state of mind and it’s obtainable. Also on being green, as a vintage curator by showing people how stylish vintage clothing can be, I feel proud that I’m helping so many people. Togetherness, our planet can be better if we recycle our clothing by wearing vintage clothing.
We’re interested to hear your thoughts on female leadership – in particular, what do you feel are the biggest barriers or obstacles?
Understanding that we are stronger together than as individuals. This is one of the barriers that I see as a big part. Social media can be a gift and curse because it can create divisions on popularity rather unity. Authenticity and vulnerability is something that is highly effective and needed for a leader.
