Meet Tina Roberts of Captured Emotions Photography in Weston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Roberts.

Tina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My love for photography began with my journey of planning my own wedding. I fell in love with the art of creating beautiful wedding images and began photographing weddings for friends and family. Just seeing the joy and happiness that I could bring them by simply looking at an image I took was an amazing feeling. Sometimes I don’t know what I love more, taking photos or seeing people’s reactions to the photos I’ve taken! I think it’s both. I began constantly educating myself on the art and mechanics of photography. I let my passion take over and decided in 2005 to make a giant leap to leave my career and start up my own business. But in my mind I wasn’t the least bit nervous. I truly feel that if you have a love and passion for something then there is no way that you cannot be successful. Therefore Captured Emotions was born and I have not looked back. Here I am today, doing what I love, photographing people’s personal moments and documenting their life’s journeys. There is no better honor to be trusted with that!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting your own business is never easy. To be a successful photographer, you also have to be a great marketer, accountant, digital editor and keep up with the latest technology of today. Another challenge is that everyone wants instant today, but I pride myself on getting to know the true essence of my clients’ personality and capturing that in a relaxed atmosphere.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I specialize in weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvah’s, family portraits, high school senior portraits and headshots for professionals, models/actors. My skills, passion for photography and calming presence result in a natural unobtrusive style that creates a fun and stress free atmosphere. I work closely with my clients to record their life’s journeys. I find beauty in a simple glance, warm smile, a laugh and even tears. These moments truly capture the emotions and personality of my clients and their most precious memories.

What were you like growing up?
As a child, I always had a camera in my hand. One of my favorite memories is blowing on the old Polaroid instant camera pictures. Seeing it go from white to color always amazed me. I constantly had a camera in my hand and my sweet parents made MANY trips to develop rolls and rolls of film for me. I loved taking unique pictures, but never quite knew what to do with it other than personal enjoyment.
