Meet Timothy Halleran of Palm Aire Run Club in Broward County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Timothy Halleran.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Timothy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The Palm Aire Run Club is a free, weekly running and walking club that meets every Thursday at 6 pm in front of the Herb Skolnick Center. Supervised by the city of Pompano Beach, the Palm Aire Run Club prides itself upon establishing a sense of community, positively contributing to the neighborhood and giving back through physical education. Founded in July of 2019 by serial entrepreneur and avid runner Timothy Halleran, the Palm Aire Run Club is a place for all ages and athletic levels.

Has it been a smooth road?
Since the Palm Aire Run Club is relatively new, the hardest part has been making the community aware of who we and what we’re all about. However, that marketing and advertising obstacle has become easier since the team and I developed a stronger social media presence. Also, another challenge has been finding other creative ways of keeping things fresh every week. One way, we’ve done that is by switching up the walk/run route and providing snacks and refreshments for the whole team after the workout. As time has progressed, I’ve learned that the “little things” really do make a big impact.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Palm Aire Run Club story. Tell us more about it.
There are so many run clubs in South Florida. Since it’s sunny out almost year-round and flat terrain in Florida, getting a workout in outdoors is incredibly easy. However, although there’s run clubs throughout Miami and Fort Lauderdale, the Palm Aire Run Club is an outlier, at least within Palm Aire. We’re fun, dedicated, competitive and most importantly, interested in bringing the community together through athletics. Without a doubt, I believe the Palm Aire Run Club will quickly become one of the more popular and favorable run clubs within South Florida.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Without a doubt, I believe the Palm Aire Run Club will quickly become one of the more popular and favorable run clubs within South Florida. We’re fun, dedicated, competitive and most importantly, interested in bringing the community together through athletics. Other than scaling our member base, it would be ideal for the Palm Aire Run Club to host our own races, events, and fundraisers for anybody interested in making a difference in South Florida through physical education.
