I’m certified in both human behavior and holistic aromatherapy and I’m an erotic educator and sex goddess. About 12 years ago, I launched an organic skincare company for elite endurance athletes. I developed a line of 16 head to toe organic body care products called Tri-Body Products. We sponsored 5ks, triathlons, triathletes, runners and five Olympians in both the summer and winter Olympics. About eight years ago we started traveling to adults-only resorts and met a couple that specialized in adults-only vacations which included cruises, resorts and hotel takeovers.
In October 2018, she, along with her Sisters of Sexuality collective launched the Sisters of Sexuality: Five Shades of a Play Radio show who’s mission it is to Educate, Entertain and Inform you in all areas of sexuality, sexual health, kink, relationships and the business of sex. In December 2019, the show passed the 100,000 download mark and can be heard in more than 600 cities worldwide and on all podcast platforms, such as Anchor.FM, iTunes, Google Play, Spotify and Stitcher.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As with most solopreneur ventures, cash flow has been the main challenge. With a product-based business you need money to buy products to sell. As I have had both a wholesale and retail business, I can say that the retail business has been an easier growth path than as a manufacturer/wholesaler. Another obstacle has been the ability to market/advertise on social media.
Please tell us more about your work.
As an erotic educator and sex goddess, I travel the world, presenting my erotic educational seminars and exhibiting/selling my organic intimate body products on adults-only cruises, resorts, conferences, hotel take-overs and sex expos. I primarily present in the ethical non-monogamous community (i.e. swingers, open relationships). What sets me apart is that most sexologists do not know a lot about organic intimate body products and body-safe sex toys and most exhibitors/sellers of intimate body products and sex toys do not have much, if any education, in the products that they sell.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for me has come in the form of being respected as a sexpert in my industry and having a profitable company. In addition to being profitable, another marker was when different event producers started inviting me to present at their events and offering payment and covering of my expenses! Also, when editors/writers of magazine articles, blogs regarding my industry asked for my opinion and I was quoted.
