Meet T I Double G (Tigga) of Music Media Lounge

Today we’d like to introduce you to T I Double G.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As early as middle school, my musical interests began to spark. My father used to play on 1170AM WAVZ radio and I can remember staying up late to listen to his show. From there, I went on to playing parties and dances along with events at my high school. These events, complied together allowed me to create an undying joy/passion for playing music. Fast forward to modern-day times, myself along with a few other brothers that shared similar interests in the music decided it was time to change the way you listen to music. The end result of that is what we today call Music Media Lounge.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Anything in life that’s worth it won’t be easy so to speak. It has definitely been a journey. It’s all about lessons & blessings and along the way, we’ve experienced our fair share of both. I believe our greatest feat was actually teaching ourselves the majority of the technical aspects along the way as we were going. We didn’t go to school or take any class or course on how to. The highest blessed us with the knowledge or the opportunity to make it all possible. One of the greatest struggles is keeping the many energies involved on one accord. Togetherness is the secret!!!

Music Media Lounge – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
MUSIC MEDIA LOUNGE is not your typical radio station. We are an online radio that caters to our community covering various age demographics. We found that for decades radio stations were only catering to a specific demographic. If you want Hip Hop or R&B, you go here but if you want Reggae or Soca, you HAVE to go over there. We are all of the Caribbean descent and living in South Florida, a melting pot of Caribbean culture and lifestyle, you have an opportunity of being exposed to almost every culture at once. You are raised with island customs at home, but when you go to school or go outside, the customs of the American way of living become extremely evident.

We have been blessed with a natural ability to bridge the gap between all of those worlds. At MML, we are let’s say by the people for the people. The owners, being DJ’s as well, decided not to limit our audience by focusing on one genre. Instead, target multiple genres which would allow a greater audience base. We play everything from Dancehall, Reggae, Soca, Afrobeat, Hip Hop, R&B, to Top 40, House Music, Pop and more. Any time day or night, it’s definitely a vibe!!!

Our mission is “Togetherness Is The Way To Bring For Our Nation.” Our motto is “Online Radio Nuh Good Again.” We take great pride in playing our role as a positive entity in our community. We provide creatives space. They can not only feel safe and feel like a part of the family but also where they can flourish far beyond their wildest expectations. We provide podcasts platforms for individuals that prefer to take a more informative approach. We have live artist interviews to help keep the community in tune with local talent. We have radio slots for DJ’s to keep their fans rocking as well as remaining active in their craft. We’ve also taught a few of our younger DJ’s fundamentals of the arts and craft of DJing. That way, the knowledge passes from generation to generation. Last but not least, we also provide an opportunity for artists to perform live!

That’s how Chozen Few Family was created. Myself along with Selecta Peppa, DJ Killa Jr, & DJ Currency formed a musical union through the bond that already existed amongst ourselves as brothers. Recently we’ve added in two more creatives DJ Smoodie Doo & DJ MF Naw. We do our best to function as a family should”, right after the sentence that says ” We’ve also taught a few of our younger DJ’S  the fundamentals of the arts and crafts of DJing.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Timing. Persistence. Consistency. No luck. Everything in its timing. What is for us, no one can take away. The main focus is energy. See the thing with energy is it cannot be created or destroyed yet exists in all living things. Its either positive energy (good luck) or negative energy (bad luck) that determines the outcome of a situation. So in everything I do, I put JAH First & Everything AFTER. That has brought me thru every time without fail. The most high alone guides our steps and our thoughts. Say it with me, “JAH FIRST EVERYTHING AFTER.” Selah.
