Meet Herlens Suffrin of Sky Burg Records in Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Herlens Suffrin.

So, before we jump into specific questions about your music, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Let me introduce myself, I’m well known as Freezzy Brickz Haitian/American Record producer, music video director, producer. I always liked music since I was a child, always been around musicians, break dancers and DJs. I wanted to go to school for sound engineer but my dad didn’t like it, he wanted me to be a doctor, that wasn’t what I wanted, at that moment, we were living in Pembroke Pines, my family decided to move to Orlando, I didn’t move with them because I realized if I get my own place, I would be able to make my own decisions and do whatever I want. With that being said, I could go to school and learn what I wanted to learn not what my dad wants. So, I stayed in Pines, got me a job, find me a place and stayed with a roommate. A few months later, my aunt called me and asked me to move into her house in Fort Lauderdale which I did and still kept the job.

Two years later, I decided to quit the job, right before I quit the job, the company hired a new employee “whosane” who is my best friend now. I introduced myself to him on his second day at the job, we shared a few words, then, we found out how we both passionate about music too. Later, he came and told freezzy guest what? I’m like ‘boy, I don’t like guessing just say it. Then, he said he just enrolled in school for media production, I said nice, I’m next. So, six months after, I left the job, then I went to Broward College for Music Technology. But we always kept in touch, hung out whenever we could. After one year and six months, “whosane” graduated. Now, he has the knowledge, we started renting out a recording studio in Miami, invited some local artists and worked with them for free just to practice. One Saturday night while I was at the studio, one of the local artist we were working with said he wanted some liquor, I told him let’s go to the liquor store, so I took him to the store, we bought of Hennessy, on our way to the store, we conversate, he asked what do I do for a living. I told him I work for a company named Exel, then told him that was not my dream job. My dream job is to own a record company. Then. we went back to the studio.

Next day, my friend called and said the dude that you took the liquor store last night wants you to manage him. I was like no wayyy. you gotta be joking because I didn’t have any management experience at that moment. But I didn’t say no. I told whosane to tell him to give me a few days. Then, I said to myself if he wants me to manage him that means he saw something in me that I don’t see. I was like, probably this is an opportunity for me to start my record label. So, I went online, did some research came up with the company name “Sky Burg Records”, registered it, contacted an entertainment attorney right here in Miami named Allen Jacobi. We prepared a contract two days later, I called him and said I’m ready, we signed him as my first artist in the company… signed two producers, two more artists, that’s how the company started “Sky burg Records”.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The beginning wasn’t really smooth because it happened too fast, I’m not ready and prepared for it. I had a financial situation in the middle of it. I did what I had to do with the blessing of God, I got everything situated.

Please tell us about Sky Burg Records.
Sky Burg Records is a full-service management, music publishing company.

Most proud as a company is the fact that we are able to help others change their lives and make their dreams come true.

These are some of the things that set Sky Burg Records’ other indie labels. Unlike a few other Indie labels, they value talent and passion over money and followers on social media. Us from sky Burg, we know there’s a lot of talented kids here in Florida that can become superstars but they don’t have the push to break the barrier with great anger. I want the best of the best from my second home in Florida show through Sky Burg Records.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Christmas parties.
