Meet Robert Fronrath and Jerry Lee of Florida Medical Marijuana Health Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Fronrath and Jerry Lee.

Robert and Jerry, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Jerry Lee and I founded Florida Medical Marijuana Health Center in October of 2017 in an attempt to cut through all of the media’s misinformation on this subject and deliver the truth to all of the people suffering with qualifying conditions. I firmly believe big pharma is behind all the misinformation given to the public to confuse and lead them to believe that either they do not qualify or it will not help them.

So we are on a mission to dispel those lies and help get this incredible medicine to the people who need it. Having come from a background of owning car dealerships here in S. Florida. And internationally we bring that customer service first attitude to the medical industry where the patient is not always the first concern.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This road is not for the weary of heart. We have seen discrimination at every turn. We were thrown out of banks while simply trying to open a checking account for a legal business. We were turned down for merchant services for our clinic.

We were recently denied entry to the South Florida Fair Exhibits. As we search for new locations we run into landlords that will not rent to us because of our name not even knowing what we do. So we battle the STIGMA of this product on a daily basis but we are determined to stick it out for our patients.

Please tell us about Florida Medical Marijuana health Center.
We are known as the first Medical Marijuana Clinic in Palm Beach because of the media coverage we received when we first opened. The reason we got the media coverage is because we were the first stand-alone building on a major street with a big sign in front. None of our competitors wanted the exposure they prefer to hide in the background we wanted to encourage people to come in and ask any questions they may have.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I am a big sports fan and a big Dallas Cowboys fan. In 1977 the Cowboys came to Miami to play the Dolphins. My father being the Chevrolet dealer in Ft. Lauderdale had contacts at the Dolphins and found out where they would be staying in Miami. He took this wide-eyed 12-year-old to meet his heroes. It was incredible, I met and took pictures with Rober Staubach, Tony Dorsett and many more including my favorite player of all time Randy White. He bought me football and I got autographs from almost all the players. It was a night I will never forget.

I have a documented terminal cancer diagnosis with MRIs to back it up from my previous doctor Illinois. Do I need another exam in Florida (that my insurance won’t cover and I can’t afford since all alternative meds are out-of-pocket) or would my documented diagnosis and medical records be sufficient to qualify for the card?
