Meet Lindsay Autry of The Regional Kitchen & Public House in West Palm Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Autry.

Lindsay, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have been living and working in the South Florida area for 8 years. Being a chef, has given me the fortunate opportunity to travel and work in many parts of the country and abroad, but I have always migrated back to this area. Originally from North Carolina, food has always been a part of my life and cooking with my family has always been my most cherished memories. I started cooking competitions through 4H as a child and always had an interest in pursuing food professionally. After attending Johnson & Wales University in Charleston and Miami, I began working with Chef Michelle Bernstein and traveled opening restaurants and hotels with her for the majority of my career. My partner Thierry Beaud and I opened The Regional in September 2016 in West Palm Beach.

Has it been a smooth road?
I don’t think any rewards come from a smooth road but I have felt very fortunate to be in a community that supports us. Restaurants are a risky business but if you put in the hard work and genuinely care about the product being created, the road tends to smooth out after time. I sometimes joke that my biggest heart breaks have come from the restaurants or hotels that had to come to an end, but those experiences opened doors to new ones that led me to being able to realize my dream of opening my own place.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the The Regional Kitchen & Public House story. Tell us more about the business.
The Regional embraces the concept of an American Kitchen, focusing on regional ingredients prepared and inspired by Southern Cookery and Mediterranean influence. We have designed our space to feature an open pantry kitchen with a warm dining room to make our guests feel at home, as well as well-appointed private spaces and a lively bar so the guests can experience us in many ways.
