Meet Michelle Bertran of FierceFit in Doral

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Bertran.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always been an athlete, dancer and fitness enthusiast. I always dreamed of having my own gym and inspiring others to change their health/lives for the better. When I graduated college from the University of Miami in 2015, I realized there was nothing else that I saw myself doing. I enjoy it so much that doesn’t feel like “work.” It is my passion to help others form healthy eating habits and incorporate fitness into their new and improved lifestyle so I thought to myself, “What better way to do this than to open up your own gym?”

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a pretty smooth road, I really can’t complain. I have a great coaching staff and support system.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about FierceFit – what should we know?
FierceFit’s classes are all completely different from one another. Every day is a full-body workout, but every day is a totally different workout with a wide variety of movements.

We like to incorporate all aspects of HIIT (high intensity interval training), metabolic-conditioning, boot camp and plyometric training. Some workouts will be timed, some will be with partners, some will have plenty of running, and some will have plenty of weights. It is a surprise every day! This way, bodies don’t get accustomed to a specific routine/movement and we are constantly seeing results. I think this is one of the main attributes that differentiate us from other boot camps. Not to mention, we have our popular, ladies only “Ab & Booty Blast” class where we target our gluteus & core for the entire hour. We have this class twice a week; on Wednesdays (“hump” day) at 6:30pm and on Saturdays at 10am!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I think that being genuine with my clients is most important. Everyone is completely different and everyone has different goals so it is important to let them know exactly what would/would not work best for them regarding diet and exercise.
