Meet Teodora Thompson of Miami Marketing Co. in Brickell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teodora Thompson.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My ambition for coding, branding and design started at a very young age in Bulgaria, when internet and email started to become available with friendly web interfaces like Yahoo and Hotmail and later Netscape. I remember going to this computer lounge where I began experimenting with code and building small HTML websites, surfing the net, creating chat rooms and hacking programs for fun. I built my first website in 1994 and since then I was hooked. I found coding to be my window to the world, outside of everything I knew. My passion for design and coding was so strong that I continued developing my skills, and soon I felt that there were so many opportunities – opportunities for growth and opportunities to help people be successful. I enabled small businesses to get on the web, create their brand and set them up for success online. Seeing their business grow gave me a great sense of fulfillment.

I developed my business, because I wanted to make sure that every business (small, medium size or large) can take advantage of our marketing tools and have a successful marketing campaign for a fraction of what they would pay in a large advertising agency. We focus on innovation, bring awareness to your business and we make cool stuff happen.

I am grateful for having the opportunity to have worked with the greatest, and, climbing the corporate ladder, I advanced my career gaining more knowledge and valuable experience.

Because I am a code junkie, we have structured a variety of ways to promote businesses online organically by providing the right content for crawling, indexing and analyzing.

Businesses find success just within a few months. For example, we have a large tax company that was struggling to make their numbers the first year of business. They came to me and needed a lot of help, from their logo to their social media strategy, website, and online reputation and presence. Their sales were at 1,500 tax filings for the season when we stared. After our creative direction, marketing strategy and initiatives, they went up to 3,500 tax filings in only 4 months. I think that’s pretty good growth. This is exactly what drives me, and this is what drives our business – our client’s success. I have been lucky to have grown this business now to be locally recognized and the #1 marketing company in Miami providing data driven services from top notch branding to in depth market analysis.

I am also proud to say that I am the “#1 Certified Social Media Professional” in Miami due to my years of experience and happy to share my knowledge by providing corporate business training and excellent practical skills for my staff. Our social media department is growing because we deliver results. I don’t know any other company that does this organically. We actually do the “dirty work,” engage with the audience, track down influencers and people in your target neighborhood, making sure that we connect with your audience, bring awareness and conversion. We provide precise reports so you know who your business is reaching, what’s working, and what’s not so that you find opportunities and attract more followers.

We have also built great relations with over 2,000 journalists and online platforms nationwide to get your brand recognition on the local and national levels. We are constantly adopting to the ever changing technologies and constantly in development of even more ways to get results for all budgets.

I am the proud Founder of the rapidly growing Miami Marketing Co, now a registered trademark, fully women-owned and operated.  We have a very strong team of professionals, 35+ digital marketers, copywriters, designers, SEO experts and developers working on your business, which feels really good.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, not smooth at all. Being a women business owner has its own challenges, like social expectations and earning respect, so I learned to be myself. I made it to where I am right now because of my hard work and perseverance. As a young entrepreneur, you learn to overcome those challenges fast. In business there is no time for limitations. I fully support the saying “YOU ARE YOUR OWN LIMIT.” As soon as you know this, you become unstoppable. Now I have competitors coming to me asking me take care of their clients because they couldn’t deliver results and their clients are unhappy. Companies are coming to me asking to invest in Miami Marketing® or buy us out, which was already valued at $1.2M.

When I tell people I design and develop websites I always get a strange look and the response, “You do? You don’t look like a coder”. This I find discriminating, but once they see my work they have no doubts that they chose the right marketing company.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Miami Marketing Co. – what should we know?
We specialize in strategic, data driven marketing campaigns powered by geographic technologies. We take over the entire marketing process of a business and work as the business’ own marketing department. We do a makeover of the brand and push the right message to the right audience. We directly connect, engage, and grow your audience. We have developed unique and proven techniques to put your business on the map and make sure that your website reaches the first page on Google within just four months!

Miami Marketing® creates the overall branding, website, logo and all marketing materials that a business needs to communicate the right message to reach a specific audience and business goal.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Who deserves credit are all the local business who have supported us since the beginning of our growth, who see the results of our hard work daily, and all team members of Miami Marketing® for being there through the good and the bad. We are so grateful to every one of them and couldn’t have done it without them.
