Meet Mary Ann Cohen of MAC Art Galleries in Flagler Village

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Ann Cohen.

Voted #1 gallery in Broward, MAC Art Galleries has opened a brand-new second gallery in Jupiter! MAC Jupiter shows a thoughtfully curated collection of 100 internationally acclaimed artists and features monthly exhibitions in both locations. MAC Art Galleries has new artworks arriving daily to their 12,000 sq ft main gallery in Fort Lauderdale comprising one of the largest and most diverse fine art collections in South Florida.

Owner, Mary Ann is one of the nation’s most successful and respected art dealers with a fine art degree and 30 years of experience as a gallerist and national art dealer on both coasts. The MAC Fine Art team of experts specialize in art curation services including sourcing fine art, commissioning site specific artworks, custom framing, delivery and installation along with in-house packing and crating services. MAC Art publishes their own prints in house and can service any size project from residential homes to corporations, hotels, hospitals, restaurants, yachts and lobbies. MAC also provides personalized guidance and in-home or office showings so their clients can feel more confident that their art selections not only look amazing but complement and fit perfectly into their spaces.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Owning and managing two fine art galleries and facilitating an incredible roster of fine artists is never an easy task in today’s marketplace. Getting the word out about the vast & incredible collection we house is not easy with so many distractions facing clients daily. Plus, we are dedicated to exposing clients to important art that they may not have seen in commercial galleries and websites so there is an education process that is ongoing as we work with each client to provide them with timeless works of art that they can cherish for years to come.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the MAC Art Galleries story. Tell us more about the business.
MAC Art’s main gallery is over 11,000 sq. ft. in the heart of Ft Lauderdale where the company has founded a unique creative arts area which hosts monthly art walks and has recently organized COAT, an ambitious international mural project. MAC’s main gallery houses their extensive original collection of almost 80 contemporary artists and displays their work in one of the largest exhibition spaces in South Florida. Additionally, MAC maintains an in- house Multimedia Department complete with a digital photography studio, a state-of-the-art Gicleé printing facility, and a computer-graphic/prepress department. The space also features a custom design frame shop and shipping department, which allows for even greater quality control, giving the gallery full oversight of the collecting process, from initial contact through to the finish, delivery and installation of the artwork. MAC Art Galleries encourages you to explore their two impressive galleries in Broward & Palm Beach or visit their top-notch website often as they are constantly updating their collections, exhibition schedule and artist’s news & events. If you are interested in collecting art, the MAC Art team can help you understand the process, locate the artworks you wish to own and provide the highest caliber of service available in the art industry today.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck has played a role in my life and business. I am fortunate to have an amazing network of artist’s and clients who have afforded me opportunities that I would not have had otherwise. However, so many of these relationships started with just a chance meeting or introduction but developed into successful business collaborations that are still very strong today.
