Meet Llordel Taylor of Food Flow by Chef LO TAYLOR in Central Miami-Dade

Today we’d like to introduce you to Llordel Taylor.

Llordel Taylor, born in Jamaica migrated to South Florida at ten years old. Llordel was a star track athlete in high school which earned him a scholarship to Lee McCrae College then attended Florida A&M University. Llordel eventually drifted from his athletic path and redirected his focus to find something he was more passionate about. He channeled his interest in cooking and began to pursue his dream in culinary arts. Chef Taylor has worked his way up on the culinary scene, having worked at top restaurants in Miami including SoHo House’s Cecconi’s, Mandolin Greek Restaurant, Tom Colicchio’s Beachcraft, and The One Hotel Habitat Miami Beach. Gaining experience in various cuisines, Chef Taylor created his acclaimed creative fusion cuisine that has consistently received praises. In winter 2015, Chef Taylor was featured in SoHo House Magazine for his creative spin on his famous jerk chicken. Chef Taylor’s delicious peach cobbler, gyros, and macaroni &cheese were all awarded “best” by the City of Miramar in an intense cook-off competition.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road, I’ve been homeless. Arrested multiple times, and through it all, I’m still here fighting the good fight.
