Meet Leslie Rouder of Leslie Rouder Counseling Services in Boca Raton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslie Rouder.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
While working at Barry University in North Miami Shores as the Director of Disability Services. I became very interested in coaching and understanding the difficulties our students experienced as a result of having Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). As a result, I studied extensively and became an expert in the field of ADD. After recognizing the need for coaching and support by adults with this disorder, I began to build my private practice, in the evenings after work and on Saturdays and started adult ADD support groups. I also built a web site called and began writing extensively about the strengths and struggles of individuals with this diagnosis. In building my private practice, I also became aware of the unique needs that were being presented by many of my women clients during our sessions. It was at this time that I re-discovered my passion for empowering and supporting my fellow women and began to focus a lot of my work in this area, thus creating my second my web site, One of the most important parts of my work, is in incorporating the ancient heritage of bringing like minded women together in circle, to share, grow and support each other. The circle represents a universal symbol for unity and wholeness and has been used in a variety of modalities over the centuries to share goals, discuss problems and seek community and wisdom.

After 11 years, I resigned my position at the university in 2011 to pursue my private practice full time and have enjoyed the pleasure of meeting and working with a variety of wonderful people, who I have hopefully impacted in meaningful ways.

I believe in a holistic approach to my work and bring a lot of experiential modalities into my practice, incorporating hypnosis, breath work, guided meditations, neuro-linguistic programing (NLP), Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT) as well as more traditional modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a lot of work but the road has been relatively smooth. I am and always have been of the belief that whoever comes to my door, is supposed to be there. It is rarely an accident. For this, I am most grateful.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Leslie Rouder Counseling Services – what should we know?
As previously stated, my counseling business has a 2 pronged focus. Adult, Attention Deficit Disorder and the empowering of women. I am most proud of the work I have and continue to do with women. Supporting the evolution and growth of other women is my life’s passion.
