Meet Legna Garcia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Legna Garcia.

Legna, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
“Hard work, honesty, and commitment to excellence are what I believe in”

I was born in Cuba and raised in Miami I come from a family who knows what it means to risk it all and leave your Country behind to find the American dream. I grew up watching my father Angel Santos work hard in many areas like financials, Mortgage, and Real Estate. He taught me at a young age, to follow my dreams and never give up. That you must love what you do and have a passion for it but most importantly, to be honest, and loyal. That is why at the age of 16 I started as a receptionist in one of the biggest mortgage companies in Miami. Shortly after I decided that with all I had learned I would like to move forward and venture into property management.

I became a top leasing agent in 2002 then months after I got promoted and allowed to work side by side with my old boss and friend Yasmina Pena in a lease-up at the property Bay Parc Plaza (Brickell). Furthermore, I continued to excel and became a property manager for worldwide companies such as Greystar, Continental Group, Lincoln and United Property Management (The Miltons). I became these companies trainer and passed along all the knowledge that I had gained creating amazing employees who are today’s top property Managers. After all my hard work late nights on the job I knew I wanted more I wanted to be my own boss and make a future for myself and family, as my father had once done. I decided to go for it, I took my realtor’s license test in the year 2010, this was one of the hardest challenging things I had to do for a month before I had lost my best friend to cancer “My Mother Nancy Rivera” Life came crashing down on my father and I.

Not only did we lose my mother that year my father lost his home, his businesses everything that he so hard worked for all his life. Did I feel like giving up? Absolutely, but I realized that my two beautiful daughters are watching me and that it was time to teach them how you can always get back up and start over. Therefore, giving up is not an option. Today my father and I own Lexsa Real Estate LLC and Management Company. We are committed to bringing excellence and attention to detail to our team and clients, as well as helping one family at a time. I will work extra hard to facilitate any transaction whether it is Buying-Renting-Investing-Managing. I am not afraid to bring my negotiation expertise to the table and making the deal happen.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Today for me success, is being able to overcome obstacles in ones life. It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve failed but how many times you’ve gotten back up. That every accomplishment is one step closer to the finish line. Your strength and success comes from the things you thought you couldn’t do. Believe in yourself once you’ve learned this you will be unstoppable.
