Today we’d like to introduce you to Kobesha Dubuisson.
Kobesha, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born and raised by a beautiful family of Haitians in Miami, FL. In addition, I was born with sickle cell anemia which means that my red blood cells are in the shape of a crescent moon. This makes them very difficult to pass through my veins, therefore causing strong pains in some areas, specifically my lower back. It is also referred to as a crisis. I’ve always been into any art I can work with my hands. For example, drawing, baking, and of course makeup!
Growing up, I always wanted to be a pastry chef and that’s what I had my mind focused on for years. In fact, in the year 2017, I was working at a restaurant as a baker’s assistant for a few months. Ultimately, I decided going into a different career path because of my health. I got to where I’m at today because of my dedication and perseverance to get to where I want to be career-wise.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. It first started when I was working at the restaurant. I ended up getting fired due to the business not being successful. That was when I made the decision to try and enroll in beauty school to become a makeup artist since I had recently explored into the world of makeup my senior year of high school. Instantly, I fell in love with everything makeup. The art, the application, the techniques, you name it. Shortly after being enrolled, I was constantly sick for about 3-4 months. I kept getting the common cold every week or so. Thinking that it was just a common cold, I blew it off like it was nothing.
Until one day early in the morning, I had a crisis. This time my thigh was aching so bad, I could barely walk. Quickly, I went to the hospital and ended up being in there for the next couple of months. In there, I was put into a coma and got my whole body paralyzed because if I moved or even breathed on my own, I wouldn’t have made it. Did I mention all this happened on my birthday?? Yeah, it’s crazy isn’t it. With all this being said, I fought my way through getting staying alive and going through a whole lot of different therapies to get where I’m at today. The thought of starting up my own beauty business is what helped me get through those tough times and it’s why I will continue to pursue my dreams of Kouture Beauty Bar being successful.
Please tell us about Kouture Beauty Bar.

As a company, I’m most proud that we can always put a smile on someone’s face just by casting their inner and outer beauty to the world. If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I most likely wouldn’t have changed a thing. Even with everything that I’ve been through! I see it as a way to learn and grow for yourself. You will always learn from your mistakes and downfalls and that’s why it makes you a better and stronger person each and every day!
