Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Justinien.
Kevin, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve been a college promoter for about three years now and I actually started as a sub promoter back in 2013 after I graduated high school in like my first semester in college. At the time, I played for Broward college for the men’s basketball team that 2013-2014. See how I started was I used to go to a lot of parties when around that time and I just started meeting a lot of party people and DJs and I was somewhat popular so people always wanted me to host parties and bring people to there party because I knew a lot of people. I have always been a people’s person, always had friends, and I also know how to converse with other people and persuade people to come to the parties. All attributes that a promoter needs. I really became more of a promoter because, from 2014-2017, I used to be a part of #EmpireFridays at L boulevard Cafe as a sub promoter from 2014-2016. #Empirefridays started on my B-Day weekend in 2014 and I remember I bring about just 100 people alone for my first time. Ever since that day, I knew I was going to become a promoter. Friday, July 29th, 2016 never forget, I threw my first party called Call Of Booty. Lol, catchy? I know right… ever since that day, I can say that I became a promoter. My event went from having 200 to 1000 and every Call Of booty it’s just getting bigger and better.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well, to be honest, it was a smooth ride on being a promoter because I sat back and learn from my mentor, Louie Knuckles (Selective Service) & Floyd Bostic (Nocrowdcontrol). Also, I just watch all the mistakes and errors these south Florida promoters make so it wasn’t hard for me. Like I said, to become a promoter, I don’t care what no one says. You have to have great apparel, you need to know how to converse with all types of people, passing out flyers, marketing and promoting smart not hard, like there are so many things that you need and I pretty much feel like I have all of them. Don’t only think I lack in height, wish I was a little taller even though, I’m 5’8, lol!
Please tell us about Assets Promotion & Marketing.
Well, I’m a promoter and I throw parties and events. But mainly, I’m known for Call Of Booty (Miami)… Sometimes, I run into people who don’t know my name but they know my Party Name. Call of booty started as a club party that I came up with… it’s to the point that I made Call Of Booty so known that other promoters in other states and city, take it the name from me. I’m happy that I just got this party into a brand.
Also, what sets me apart from others is a couple of things: 1. People have fun at my parties and that’s my number one priority is fun. 2. No one is as real as me and I hate the fakes. What that means is that I keep it real from the jump whether you don’t like to hear the truth or not. 3. I speak my mind always and that’s what people love about me.
Any predictions for the industry over the next few years?
In the next ten years, I will take over Miami for the party scenery. I’m going to be the best promoter in Miami Dade and I will stamp that. I’m going to be in the college entertainment, South Beach Entertainment, and Gentleman Club Entertainment. After, I see my self owning a club and organizing my own events. I want people to know out of towners know when they come in town, they know to ask for my name.
