Meet Kaveh Abrishami of ABRA Gallery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaveh Abrishami.

Kaveh, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Our desire has always been to create an environment that allows an everyday admirer to become a lifetime collector of fine art. We were established in January of 2002, ABRA (Art By Renowned Artist) Gallery offers an eclectic collection of art in a variety of mediums including original acrylic paintings, limited edition prints, and bronze sculptures. Whatever your interest, we have an extensive collection of art that will suit your taste. A full schedule of special exhibits, art openings, and celebrations are planned.

I have been in the art business for over 17 years. My father, Hessam Abrishami, is a world-famous artist who has been professionally painting for over 40 years. We represent him amongst other influential artists in our gallery.

Has it been a smooth road?
There have always been struggles. When the recession hit in 2007, it affected us 2 years later. We noticed that people with money were still buying art but other with little disposable income stopped. The trend moved towards more original art sales than lower priced reproductions. All in all, we survived and are thriving now. We noticed that majority of all our sales were being shipped to Florida, therefore in 2015 we moved our location from Los Angeles to Miami as it has become one of the most important art cites nationwide.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the ABRA Gallery story. Tell us more about the business.
We mainly specialize in art from the Middle East. It is an up and coming trend. I myself am Persian (Iranian) so majority of the artists I represent are as well.

We host several exhibitions a year and maintains a deep commitment to enhance our artists’ careers and to build a legacy for them. We collaborate with museum curators, produce catalogues, participate annually in art fairs, establish relationships with the press and continue collector education & development.

ABRA Gallery’s broad aesthetic program ranges from figurative to abstraction. The collective theme throughout the gallery is attributed to the warm and rich palettes of our diverse roster of artists. It is our belief that art has the ability to be passed down from one generation to the next and to always be a significant part of our lives.

Our desire is to create an environment that allows an everyday admirer to become a lifetime collector of fine art.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The industry is ever-changing. like I previously mentioned, the shift has been towards more original artworks versus prints. We have also notice a demand for larger pieces in comparison to years before. before people would fill up every wall they can with art but now days they choose just 1 or 2 large significant pieces to liven up their home.

  • Hessam Abrishami Originals range from $5,000 to $120,000
  • Our other artists range from $1,500 to $20,000
