Today we’d like to introduce you to Kateryn Ferreira.
Hi Kateryn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Kateryn Ferreira is the CEO of Geminme, she OFFERS services as a life coach and creates communities to empower first-generation Americans to become the best version of themselves. She also serves as a director of an international youth group called, Jovenes Empower, which focused on helping young people to grow and take control of their future. As a FIRST-GENERATION Dominican American born and raised in Washington Heights, Kateryn has always carried a spirit of perseverance within her.
She has been able to reach her goals and accomplish several incredible challenges at a young age. She has eight years of experience working in public health. She had the honor of working on the front lines of Covid-19 for NYC as a Community Engagement supervisor. Kateryn worked hard while studying and working full time, which she acknowledges was difficult and stressful at times.
However, this did not prevent her from graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BACHELOR OF Science in Health Service Administration from CUNY. She then earned a Master’s in Public Health, also from CUNY. After finishing her studies, she focused on creating her own brand and podcast called Geminme The Podcast, to promote mental health, self-development, and growth. Finally, She is co-author of Today’s Inspire Young Latina Vol. 2 and Hispanic Star Rising: The New Face of Power Vol 1.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My childhood was loaded with all sorts of trauma, including my parent’s divorce, being raised by a single young mother, childhood adversity, and bullying. Despite all these circumstances, I could proudly say, I am a resilient Latina. As you read this, I am overcoming all these so-called “generational traumas” and putting all those excuses and limitations aside.
All these adversities have not only made me the person I am today, but they have strengthened my courage, driving me to excel in my aspirations. As a young Hispanic and first-generation American, I want to empower and inspire future generations who are struggling with shortcomings, insecurities, and mind-created barriers that inhibit them from accomplishing what they want. Action is the foundational key to success.
We’ve been impressed with Geminme LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Geminme is a Latina-owned coaching company that provides a range of services aimed at empowering first-generation Americans to live their best lives. Kateryn is an international speaker, life coach, co-author, podcast producer, CEO, and philanthropist. Some of the services offered by Geminme include one-on-one coaching, group coaching, workshops, and speaking engagements.
Geminme also produces a podcast that provides tips and inspiration for personal growth and development. As a philanthropist, Kateryn is committed to giving back to her community and mentoring young people in Latin countries by promoting mental wellness and self-development. Overall, Geminme provides a comprehensive approach to personal development, drawing on Kateryn’s extensive experience and expertise to help clients achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I enjoy the lively vibes of feeling in the Dominican Republic and watching the sunset. I dislike the traffic.
