Meet Juan Luv of Volksmusik Dj

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juan Quesada.

Juan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Truly, it was by accident really. The short story is that my brother-in-law, Chris, was djing using an old laptop and a boombox and I thought to myself, wait we can make money doing this. As everyone laughed at my comment, the plan was in motion to DJ as a hobby. Little did we know it would soon blossom into a business.

As 2009 rolled around, Chris and I found ourselves caught in the food truck frenzy. Pinchadiscos 305 (our name at the time) became the de facto DJs for such events. At the same time, I was working on a vintage VW bus that I had acquired in 2004 which finally defined our image.

It seemed like an eternity, many long sleepless nights working in a garage trying to get the bus running. I became desperate every time we had to brave another summer with unpredictable weather patterns, my stomach would turn into a knot. Once the bus was ready in 2015, it was quickly incorporated into the DJ aspect of the business as a true mobile djing solution, Hank Justice (pictured on the right) was brought onboard to the team.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was difficult to balance the finances. All the DJ money was being funneled into the bus project for many years. Upgrading our gear and preserving a professional look was imperative to keep operational. Maintaining a business of any kind requires dedication and perseverance. We have proven that in our upcoming 10 year anniversary in 2019.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Volksmusik DJ – what should we know?
Established in 2009, Beach Club Productions has been providing DJ services to events large and small. Our niche has always been staying true to our alternative music roots, this has helped us maintain a small but steady clientele. Before Christine the VW came along, we were always known for our wide range of music. We take pride in our skill set and the trust our clients have put in us.

One thing that undeniably sets us apart from other mobile DJ services, is that we are TRULY mobile! Not many DJ straight out the back of a vintage 1973 VW bus like we do. We use the Sun to power our equipment and carry a backup generator. The party can take place anywhere, no limits.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
We’ve always stayed humble. Honesty has always been our policy. Our clients know that they can always count on us to go above and beyond expectations.

Pricing:

  • Our DJ Services range between $100 / $125 hour depending on the event. We don’t charge extra for the bus.
