Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Gonzales.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Joshua. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My name is Joshua Gonzales I am 21 years old and started dancing when I was eight years old. I joined a company at nine called bliss urban arts center. Over the years, I worked my way up to becoming a class assistant and instructor. Now I am a resident choreographer and director of bliss urban arts center. Over my dance career, I have been apart of many big opportunities like an H&M commercial, 49er and Raider half-time shows, 50th Super Bowl, a peanut movie premiere, Won 3 scholarships at monsters of hip hop, and had award-winning choreography.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it has not been smooth at all. I’ve had a lot of struggles during the way with family, relationships, money, and growing up.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m a director and choreographer of a dance company. I specialize in hip hop. I’m proud that I get to work with amazing talented dancers that are humble and also be apart of the team.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing because if I didn’t learn my lessons, I would have never been where I am today.
