Meet Jennifer Wilson of All About Entertainment

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Wilson.

Jennifer, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.a
I started in children’s entertainment when I was 16 years old and attended clown school in NY. After “clowning” my way through college and graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, I moved to Florida to obtain a corporate position.

I soon discovered that most corporate jobs just didn’t make me as happy as entertaining children so I continued to entertain and bring joy to children through my clowning.

Soon after I moved here, I worked as a clown on the short-lived but fabulous Florida Fun Train, entertaining families who took the train to Orlando. Soon after that, I was discovered by Disney. The perfect combination of my degree in communication as well as my vast experience entertaining children landed me the position of On-Air Radio Disney personality “Pajama Jen” as well as the Director of Promotions and Marketing.

Working for the number one brand in children’s entertainment was amazing. I learned so much and had so much fun during my years with the Disney Company. From there I decided it was time to put all I had learned to good use and I opened up All About Entertainment in 2003. At first, I specialized in providing children’s entertainment, but over the years we have grown and expanded in ways I could never have imagined.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being primarily a creative soul, it has been a struggle to structure the company and grow from a business standpoint so I decided to further my education. I applied, got accepted and graduated from the Small Business Executive Program through the Jim Moran Institute for global entrepreneurship/Florida State University college of business. This helped me tremendously.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with All About Entertainment – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We specialize in providing professional level entertainment and rentals for children’s birthday parties as well as all types of public and private family friendly events. From award winning face painters and entertainers to cotton candy, decorations and party rentals, we have expanded to meet our client’s growing needs. One thing that sets us apart is that we do full background checks on all the entertainers and artists we bring into the company. It gives our clients great peace of mind. We have even become South Florida’s largest supplier of tea party rental items! Who knew that beautiful antique mix and match floral tea cups and china would have such a large niche in South Florida!?

Now as a mother of 2 little girls, I take great pride in the details of each party I plan. I love being known as the “event planner with heart” because I am one of the few event planners who actually takes the time to ask questions to get to know the families who become my loyal clients. It really is the only way to create the BEST memories possible for that child and their family and friends.

A couple of my favorite things about planning children’s parties are casting the perfect entertainers for each client ‘s event as well as planning the perfect party flow…. BUT the absolute best part is seeing the look on the children’s faces as they are enjoying everything I have worked so hard to provide and coordinate. It makes everything I do SO worthwhile.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are in the process of moving to a larger location so we can create a themed decor rental line. This will also help us to streamline our current process to make room to expand our current product lines. That is very exciting to us!
