Meet Jeff Nussbaum of Grow a Pair of Coconuts in Davie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Nussbaum.

Jeff, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Grow a Pair is a local merchandising company with a really cool logo!

It was born from years of helping and giving advice to others while assuring them that they have what it takes to succeed in their business, recreational and personal lives.

Today’s society has become very fragile. Many people are unsure of themselves and sometimes need a little support to achieve their goal. Grow a Pair is that friendly reminder for people with a sense of humor.

We came up with a logo that allowed us to get our message out without offending anyone. Some people ask what it means or if we sell coconut trees and that makes us smile. Others wink, grin and say, “love the logo!” and we know they get it!

Our brand is growing and we support the military and first responders with some really cool shirts. Our signature product is a hand-carved, hand-painted 100% natural coconut cup holder that attaches to your bicycle, beach chair or sits handsomely on your tiki bar. It is truly one of a kind!

Has it been a smooth road?
Our biggest challenge is the sensitivity of today’s society. Grow a Pair is a cool logo with subliminal motivation. It used to have a negative connotation for those who were considered weak or soft. That still applies today and if your skin is tough enough then you can appreciate the humor.

However, Grow a Pair has a positive message as well.

Grow a Pair is supportive of great causes like breast cancer and testicular cancer awareness. We have hats with our logo that say “Grow a Pair – Stronger Together” and “Grow a Pair – Crushing It” and participate in many fundraising events.

Grow a Pair encourages people to take the chance, that leap of faith to get to the finish line or goal. It is a positive message that helps others overcome their own fears and insecurities. Whether is it fighting a medical condition, asking for a raise at work or popping the question to your significant other, just Grow a Pair and go for it!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a local merchandising company with a large selection of t-shirts and hats. We also offer our logo on various other items, including coffee mugs, beverage holders and golf accessories.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
We are located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and have a successful internet and e-commerce presence.

The outlook for Grow a Pair is promising as we are selling merchandise across the country with sales in almost every state in the nation. Our military and first responder shirts are very popular and we look forward to the future.
