Today we’d like to introduce you to JaShae Jones.
JaShae, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My dream began as a little girl, when I first started entertaining family, along with my two sisters. Over the years, I came into my own and formalized my performance skills as a member of the Vocal Ensemble and Gospel Choir in high school. With hard work and determination, I became an “A Superior” rated competition singer. I later received a vocal scholarship to college. I was thrilled… and I must admit a little intimidated. Yes, I fell in love with music at a very early age, but I constantly battled with confidence and insecurities. Which led me to poetry (my original writings) as a therapeutic outlet.
After completing college, real-life introduced itself and I became an educator, which I loved, but without music, I still felt so unfulfilled. I unveiled my unique sound and confidence as a member of my church’s praise team and choir. As my faith increased, so did the power of my voice. I desire to encourage others through my artistry, just as I have encouraged myself.
I’m a singer, songwriter, poet, and true artist led by my strong upbringing, faith, and the arts. I have accomplished so much since I took my leap from the school system. With the release of my debut album “When Fear Leaves the Stage”, I proudly introduced my voice to the world. The first single “Believe” is a celebration of the strength within us all. With Soulful, honest truth-telling, I desire to inspire many to take their own leaps of faith to pursue their dreams.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
This road has not been easy. I have faced many obstacles on this journey. Beyond learning the business, building a supportive following, and choosing and creating beneficial opportunities, the biggest and most persistent hurdle has always been me and my self-doubt. I had to learn that belief starts with me. I realized that it’s extremely difficult to get anyone to believe in you if I don’t believe in yourself. This learned lesson has become my Mission, my motivation, and most importantly my message.
Please tell us more about your music, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am extremely proud of my project ” When fear Leaves the Stage”! It’s an alternative approach to music. with a rang that inspires love, growing past insecurities, overcoming fears, and triumph: My sound gives you that feel-good memory of musical sweetness that is missing in our lives. The EP features seven original records that are uplifting, real, and relatable. But, don’t take my word for it; I would suggest that you take a listen and hear for yourself.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m currently working on new music, but I plan to continue to push and promote my current project “When Fear Leaves the Stage”. I’m looking forward to traveling and performing with the Art Prevails Project, which is a creative collective of poets, singers, writers, and dancers. I will continue to build and expand my fanbase, polish my skills, and prepare myself for the opportunities that will knock on my door. I am excited about the future!!!
