Meet Jared Firestone of NextHome Maier & Bar Properties

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jared Firestone.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jared. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up in Hollywood, Florida, and attended high school at Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale. I was a district champion in the 100 meters in high school and then competed at Tulane University where I earned my undergraduate degree. Following Tulane, I attended law school in New York City. While studying during my first year of law school, I was watching the 2014 Sochi Olympics and took an interest in skeleton. After some research, I found that Team USA Skeleton recruited mostly former collegiate track athletes. I worked out for them and after a week of sliding, they invited me to return following graduation.

Once I graduated, I took the Florida Bar as well as the Florida Real Estate Sales Associate exam. Armed with these licenses, I headed up to Lake Placid to begin my training with Team USA. After my third season, I decided to obtain Israeli citizenship and compete for Israel. I will begin competing for Israel this October internationally.

I spend my off-seasons living in South Florida, training at ATP Performance in Dania Beach, and working in Real Estate sales for NextHome Maier & Bar Properties as part of The Bary|Firestone Team. I hope to be one of the few athletes to represent South Florida at a Winter Olympic Games in 2022!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has been smooth thanks to the strong support system of family and friends I have who are willing to help support this crazy venture of mine.

This idea of sliding down an ice track at 80 mph for the chance at competing at the highest level was founded after I suffered from a Transient Ischemic Attack, aka a mini-stroke, during law school. After that, I realized life was too short to have my head buried in Torts and Constitutional Law books all day. Instead, it should be buried in the ice as 5 G’s of force press against my body.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with NextHome Maier & Bar Properties – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
As a real estate agent, I am known for acting upon a concept that was emphasized heavily throughout my experience in the legal world – due diligence.

I take pride in finding my clients deals that I know they will be pleased with for years to come. My goal is not to earn a commission check quickly, but rather to earn a lifelong client who will come back to me for years to come for all their real estate needs.

How would you describe the type of kid you were growing up?
Growing up I always had a huge interest in local sports. From crying the entire car ride after the Florida Panthers got eliminated in the ’96 Cup, to videotaping every Dwyane Wade highlight before YouTube was a thing, the Heat, Dolphins, Marlins, and Panthers consumed just about all of my free time during my childhood.
