Today we’d like to introduce you to Janeal Aponte.
Janeal, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have had a passion for event planning for as long as I can remember. When I hosted parties I was the type that would go overboard for a simple dinner party of 6 and would go over the top for my kid’s events. My friends and family would always tell me that I should start my own business but to me, the thought of that was extremely frighting.
It wasn’t until I was sitting alongside my husband’s hospital bed after he had suffered a severe injury at work that I started putting some notes down and actually a plan together to start my business. I had been a stay at home mom for 2 years and I knew I had to step in and do something because we had no idea when he would be able to go back to work.
Prior to being a stay at home mom, I had 15 years of event planning, operations management & marketing experience in the Property Management and Finance Industries. It was time to put those tools back to work!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not! Every mistake I have made has honestly helped me succeed to where I am today. I started this business in 2015 with a horrible website, a logo I created myself which was also horrible and an account on Thumbtack in which I’d try to get business.
With that being said I have a passion for what I do and I believe my clients see that in every job I complete. I learn something new about this business every day! I still struggle with balancing business and family. That has been by far my biggest struggle. Allowing others to help me because I am so dedicated to what I do is a challenge. I’m working on it and I think my family will say I am doing better with that.

We plan and coordinate weddings, birthday’s, showers, kids parties, graduations, any celebration you need help with. We also offer Decor Rentals for any theme you are envisioning and we are always adding unique pieces to our collections.

We can also customize a package based on the clients budget and their specific party needs.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I enjoyed cheerleading and going to basketball games. I took judo in my middle school years which I was surprisingly really good at! I loved having a sleepover with my girlfriends and watching movies. At one time I dreamed of being a news anchor.
