Meet Jacquelyn Marks of NewEra Collective in Delray Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacquelyn Marks.

Jacquelyn, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
About six to seven years ago, Kate and I met when we worked together at a large (dot) com real estate company. As time went on, Kate and I went our separate ways. She went into the corporate side of marketing working with a large brands. I went into the agency side, where I worked with multiple industries.

Kate and I both realized there was an opportunity to impact businesses in a bigger way if we started our own company. We started NewEra Collective in early 2017 with that in mind.

Has it been a smooth road?
I wouldn’t call it a bumpy road but there have been a lot of learning curves. When you work for a company, you are sheltered from a lot of the ground work. There is one thing about creating these incredible strategies to help businesses but then there is a whole other world out there for sales, business operations, financials, etc. We fortunately have made some incredible connections that have helped us along the way.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the NewEra Collective story. Tell us more about the business.
NewEra Collective is an online marketing company that focuses on helping small businesses and nonprofits grow. We specialize in search marketing (SEM, SEO, PPC), social media, branding and more. Our main goal is to continue helping our clients expand their businesses by getting found on the web. We have a very hands on approach that not only helps these businesses but reduces the mystery in marketing to those who just don’t understand.

As for our nonprofit section, there are so many incredible opportunities for nonprofits to capture more exposure. We have a department that helps these nonprofits get approved for Google Ad Grants. They can obtain $120,000 a year of free advertising through Google AdWords. Most of the nonprofits do not know how to set it up or manage it. That is where we come in and make the process much simpler.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The industry will continue to evolve as our culture continues to get more technologically savvy. It will be more important than ever for every business to rely on outside marketing experts who keep up on the rapidly changing market place. These channels will be huge: virtual reality, video and bots (i.e Facebook Messenger).
