Meet Jaclyn Baumgarten of Boatsetter in Aventura

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaclyn Baumgarten.

Jaclyn, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I wanted to make boating more accessible and available to everyone. Boating is an incredible lifestyle and how one forms memories that last a lifetime. We created a marketplace that allows anyone to get out on the water regardless of their boating experience by matching beautiful boats, captains and renters. You can enjoy beautiful boats and yachts as often as you like without having to own one. If you own a boat, we wanted to make that experience better. We help owners offset the cost of owning a boat and we do this in a safe and insured way.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting a company is riddled with challenges. We had to work with leading maritime underwriters to create the first of its kind peer-2-peer insurance policy to protect the boat, owner, renters and captain! Finding world class partners to expand our business to markets across the country and internationally was also a challenge. This comes with time, excellent operations and a customer centric focus.

Boatsetter – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Boatsetter.com exists to connect the boating world in a way it has never been connected before. SEARCH our platform and CONNECT with boat owners and licensed captains! We’re creating a world where anyone can SET SAIL on a boating adventure. We are the number one boat rental community. You can rent a boat in the US, Caribbean, Mediterranean.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is when we help our renters create life long memories. We are adding special curated experiences for people to choose form. We love to see repeat renters. We find that our renters in S. Florida come back again and again.
