Meet Jacki Rosen of Rosen Fine Art in Wilton Manors

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacki Rosen.

So, before we jump into specific questions about what you do, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a Museum Curator for seventeen years and a high-end designer boutique owner for seven, I’ve been surrounded by art and artists in all mediums, genres, and forms. I’ve loved art forever but never put a thought into trying it from the other side of the aisle. Once I picked up my first paintbrush and that’s when my adventure began. I immediately sold my successful business and opened an art studio in Fort Lauderdale in the span of a few weeks and I’ve never looked back.

Has it been a smooth road?
My only struggle had been reaching the many art collectors in the area. The other uphill battle is getting in touch with the decorator and architectural community.

We’d love to hear more about your artwork.
I am a mixed media artist. Who is specialized in creating works that express my philosophy of life.
I am known for being the artist that gives back to my community, as well as running a full-service business from creation, installation, lighting and interior space planning. I am extremely proud of the fact that I run my practice as my business and have been included in many South Florida’s most prestigious shows. I am also pleased that I have been painting for not even two years and I am now part of a community of creatives in my area that support and assist each other with abundance. My life has never been better. What distinguishes me from others is the fact that I have over 17 years of professional art experience from retail, curatorial and museum gallery directorship. This gives me an advantage when explaining how my works fit in art history, what makes a great painting and how today’s art is a representation of the times in which we live,

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Starting out in Fort Lauderdale at Wilton Manors is not easy. The arts community is supportive of one another, there are not enough funding arts programs to keep us all thriving. The artists here need more exposure, more of a media presence and other events beyond the art-walks. The most outstanding programs are offered by #Choose954 but are only run by two gentlemen and we need other people getting involved. I also feel that all galleries could work together to exchange artists for more exposure. It would be great if all new commercial and residential buildings would host exhibitions to decorate their space with emerging and established creatives. Wynwood in Miami is the perfect model in which we can extract while including unknown artists from South Florida

  • My pieces starts from $195 for small works, up to $1450 for the very large ones.
