Meet Gwen Gottlieb of Gwen Lives Well in Boynton Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gwen Gottlieb.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Gwen. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always been in the PR, advertising, marketing, and business development industry, and social media was just a natural addition to my marketing efforts for my day job as the marketing and public relations director for Florida Eye Microsurgical Institute. And while I love my job, I don’t get to express my creative side as much as I’d like to, so I guess my reasons for starting @GwenLivesWell were two-fold:

First and foremost, I was looking for something I could do in my spare time that would indeed allow me to express my creative nature. Secondly, I wanted to see if I could make a go of it, and turn Gwen Lives Well into something besides a hobby if I enjoyed it. And what do you know? I love it! It’s been two and a half years, and I’m having a blast. I’ve met some fantastic people along the way, and I’ve learned a thing or two. I’ve also created a side hustle that’s fulfilling and downright fun.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I don’t think I’ve encountered anything too tricky. I have been morphing from a foodie account (although I’ll always be partial to food!) into more of a lifestyle account, and I’ve begun to include more posts on wellness, travel, anti-aging, etc. Maybe the challenge, if any, has been to try and please my followers who chose to follow me because I was posting food day in and day out, and to hopefully keep them interested even though I’ve expanded the scope of what I include on my blog.

Please tell us about your work.
Gwen Lives Well specializes in showcasing delicious eats, fab finds, new products, anti-aging, and wellness treatments, and travel mainly through Instagram. A brand may hire me to showcase a new product, whether it’s an organic shampoo or a new menu item. I’ve worked with banks, soft drink companies, relief socks..so varied!

Brands also choose to work with me because I treat their visions with respect and consideration. I do my best to assist them in meeting their particular goals, and I’ll always go the extra mile for my clients.

Another reason potential clients come to me is that Instagram is teeming with young influencers. I represent a different demographic – an older, more seasoned perspective if you will. I resonate with both younger and older people, and that’s important – and a plus – for specific brands.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
As I mentioned previously, be true to oneself, and do what makes you happy. And, you are never too old to learn something new. I’d also like to applaud some of the fabulous influencers/bloggers I’ve met through this Insta journey. It’s nice to be a part of a community of bloggers who lift each other and support one another’s goals.
