Meet Greg Poland of Greg Poland Photography in Islamorada, Florida Keys

Today we’d like to introduce you to Greg Poland.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Greg. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started by carrying my father’s camera bag as a child, he loved photography and I definitely caught the bug from him. In high school, I took a photography class and loved working in the darkroom. I was on the yearbook staff and just always loved capturing the moment on film. Today, my bride and I have a destination wedding photography business in the Florida Keys.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
With every business there are going to be bumps along the way, but if you do more for your client then they expect you will get a solid client list and there is no better advertisement then a happy client!

Greg Poland Photography – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Lisa and I have a boutique wedding photo studio in Islamorada, we specialize in destination style weddings on the beach or at sunset in South Florida. We do a little traveling but most of our photo sessions are from South Beach to Key West. When not shooting weddings, we love to photograph families, either at their home or while they are visiting the area on a family vacation. I think, what sets us apart is our willingness to go outside the box. Recently, I photographed a bride who was willing to lay down in the water on a shoreline at sunset and the photos are some of my favorite.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To me, success is when a client gives us a great review after photographing their daughter’s wedding day or when you see that a photo you took appear online.

Pricing:

  • we photograph a family session for 300.00
  • we photograph a wedding for 500.00 per hour
