Meet Evan Kessler of Seminole Detailing in North Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Evan Kessler.

Evan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Seminole Detailing was started in 2013, while I was attending college at Florida State University. There were no car wash spots let alone detailers in the Tallahassee area so, I quickly found myself busy with work that was in high demand. I became super indulged into the detailing industry and spent most of my days and nights watching how-to videos and using junk yard fenders and hoods to practice my paint correction. I bought my first mobile unit from my father for $100.

It was a ’99 Plymouth in poor condition but it ran fine and I brought it up to Tallahassee and started doing mobile detailing to then I which came up with the name, Seminole Detailing (Florida State Seminoles). As time passed, I found myself eager to expand my business and knew if I worked my hardest, I could evolve in the South Florida market. Seminole Detailing quickly grew into a trustworthy and reputable name in Florida.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road I took for my business was never smooth but I have learned over time that being a business owner involves finding a balance between work and a personal life combined with learning from your mistakes. I had to learn to accept that there were many things I could not change and put all my focus into the things I could change. I dealt with struggles involving my mental, physical and spiritual well being. I found myself overworking my body, draining my mind of anything not related to work and at some points, I even felt that the only way I would survive the struggles I was enduring was to give up and quit the business entirely. Every hardship and fail I ever endured has made me into the business owner I am today. I constantly seek ways to expand my knowledge and trade learning from others as well as myself.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Seminole Detailing – what should we know?
Although, Seminole Detailing started out as a mobile car wash/detail company, we have expanded into many other trades such as paint correction, ceramic coatings, tint, paint protection film, tint, vinyl wraps and more. The smallest portion of our business is actually our mobile detailing service now. We are proud to offer services like paint correction, ceramic coatings and paint protection film which require years of practice to build the skills needed to be deemed a professional. We have built our reputation on the quality of service we offer our clients. We believe we set ourselves apart from other similar business by paying extreme attention to detail and going the extra mile on every job that we perform.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Being an honest and trustworthy person is by far the most important characteristic that is vital to our success. We take great pride in being realistic with what we are giving our customers for their money. We want our clients to feel comfortable and safe leaving their cars under our care.
