Meet Monica Reyes of Enlit

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Reyes.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey into Spiritual Coaching started when I was a law firm owner and practicing law. I had a successful law firm with 2 other business partners and a staff of 40. When our business took off, I was pregnant with my first child, and as we got busier, I knew that I needed to get a handle on my stress levels.

At that time, I had already been introduced to meditation and had begun learning about spirituality and the power of the subconscious mind. I committed to meditating every day that I was pregnant, and I started to see changes in my mind and how I was showing up at my workplace and in my life.

After I had Natalia, I threw myself into everything I could find about science, energy, metaphysics, and spirituality. I became a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor and started to bring what I was learning to work and into the leadership. I found myself “working on” my colleagues and family members and realized that I was really good at counseling and talking to people, so I kept doing it.

The more Kundalini I did, and the more I helped people around me, the more I fell in love with all of it, and fell out of love of law. This kept on for a year or so, until one day, I found myself on my honeymoon, in the middle of the ocean in the BVI’s, and thought – “I’m so not happy! I need to redefine my idea of success.” And so I did…

When I got back I made the decision to stop practicing law, and jump head first into a spiritual coaching practice. I sold my law firm and started my practice overnight. At the time, I was also co-producing the Women’s Success Summit alongside my business partner and Michelle Villalobos and had the opportunity to speak in front of 250 women, so I took advantage of it and launched my new career off that stage. I never looked back…

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There have definitely been struggles along the way. Luckily right off the bat, I sold out my program and retreat. Unfortunately, I got content and overwhelmed quickly and stopped selling for 5 months and when my program was over, I had to start from scratch and had lost all my momentum. I was the breadwinner at the time and so we struggled financially as a family for some time, but my husband stepped up and made it happen and he was able to support me and my dreams until I was able to really contribute.

Lucky for me, I learned so much owning a law firm for 4 years. I was so fortunate to have made all my mistakes in that business, so when I opened this one up, I knew what I wanted and didn’t want. I knew I wanted to be an empowered business owner and figure everything out on my own before hiring anyone. I knew I wanted a business authentic to who I was, and I knew I could have it all.

That part was hard to believe at first – which is when I learned the power of limiting beliefs.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am what I call a Spiritual Success Coach. I have 3 parts to my business:
1. I guide high achieving individuals inwards to access their true powerful potential and I teach them how to harness the power of energy and spiritual leadership for more success and happiness.
2. I help women start, grow and develop wellness businesses that are authentic and aligned with their soul.
3. I also work with companies and corporation and I bring these same principles and modalities such as Kundalini, Mindfulness, and Meditation and braid it with business to help their people be more focus, productive and fulfilled.

I am also an Inspirational Speaker, and I am writing my first book called, Enlit.

I am most proud of the results my clients see in their lives after doing the work. What differentiates me is that I am a bridge. I have one foot in the business/physical world and one foot in the mystical/spiritual world. I am able to take esoteric and otherwise complex information and synthesize it into sometime people can relate to. I am usually the gateway for someone who wants to learn or experience spiritual and energy teachings.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always learning, researching, exploring. I wanted to be a space explorer or an archaeologist. I was fascinated with mystery and the unknown.

I was an athlete my whole life – competitive gymnastics for 6 years, dance, soccer, swimming in college. I’ve always been a problem solver – someone who loves puzzles, legos. I love to dance, create and lose myself in things. I’ve always loved writing in my journal and writing poetry. I was the kid laughing and being silly and goofy.

For a big part of my life, I didn’t know I was smart. It wasn’t until law school that I found out I was really smart and it wasn’t until more recently that I finally owned it.
