Meet Constanza Viera of Diamond Tales in Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Constanza Viera.

Constanza, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Ever since I can remember I have loved accessories and jewelry. My favorite birthday gifts were gold necklaces and jewelry given to me by the most special people in my life, my family.

While I was completing my Master’s Degree, I started selling my own designs since many people asked me where I had purchased them. Eventually, my business partner and I had created a personalized jewelry brand called Gugu Jewelry that was thriving in Social Media. Because of its success, we were able to continue to reinvest in the brand until we launched with an event during Art Basel 2016 in Miami, Florida.

To this day, I am still part of Gugu Jewelry as a Designer, Co-Founder, and Managing Director; as an entrepreneur, I have had to learn how to manage many aspects of a business at the same time. Since the beginning of Gugu, my passion for jewelry sky-rocketed. I decided to enroll in the Gemological Institute of America to study Diamond Grading and be able to examine the materials that I was working with through an expert eye.

In this day and age, Social Media is a big part of our lives (and businesses!), and the second I started my course I was looking for someone in the industry that shared a fact or two about diamonds that would help me through my studies. I saw the opportunity to open a blog of my own since I couldn’t find anyone who fit the characteristics I was looking for: a relatable, young person that is an expert in the industry.

Diamond Tales was born in August 2017, a little over a year ago, and has achieved so much more than I ever expected. Even though I am the definition of against the odds -young woman with no family background in the jewelry industry-, I am now a Private Jeweler and successful Jewelry and Lifestyle Influencer.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has definitely been a smooth road overall, but there are always challenges that we face along the way. I graduated from business school, but there are many things that I had no clue what I was doing when I started Gugu Jewelry and Diamond Tales.

I had to seek consulting in Accounting, Finance, Photography, and Public Relations to get to where I am today. Everything is about trial and error, and thankfully, I have learned from my mistakes and worked harder every day to get to where I am today.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Diamond Tales – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a Jewelry Designer and Influencer. I founded two companies, Gugu Jewelry, and Diamond Tales, both very similar yet so different. Gugu Jewelry specialized in dainty accessories at a lower price point, and Diamond Tales grew into a Private Jewelry business where I create bespoke jewelry projects for clients around the world.

There are not many young women doing the same as I am currently doing in this industry. I truly think what sets me apart from others is that I am not scared of giving information about diamonds and jewelry that will help others make smarter decisions when it comes to making a big purchase (even if it is not with me). Eventually, people learn to trust you, which in my opinion is crucial to have with your private jeweler. I also love being a part of the numerous people transitioning the jewelry industry into the modern and digital era!

Moreover, as an Influencer, I belong to a very small niche- the jewelry industry. These days, there are thousands of influencers worldwide, but only a handful of jewelry bloggers. I love to showcase my favorite high jewelry, jewelry buying tips, and the products that I personally offer through Diamond Tales as well as a glimpse into my daily life.

I would have never thought that I could end up working with diamonds. Today, I can’t see myself working in any other industry! I am most proud that I found my passion in life at an early age, which is not as easy as it sounds!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The weather and languages (English & Spanish). I was born and raised in Venezuela, and Miami is the next best thing to home in every way. Also, my family is my #1 priority, and thankfully the majority of them are here.

Sometimes the heat is way too hot, but I guess I shouldn’t be complaining!
