AndyO Organics was born out of the unexpected. In 2014, my late husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach cancer. It was during this time that I set out to learn as much as I could about cancer. I was so surprised to learn about all the chemicals and toxins that we are exposed to on a daily basis, from the foods we eat to the products we put on our bodies.
I started swapping many of my personal care items but quickly realized that the natural deodorants on the market just weren’t cutting it. Many of them, although they said were “natural” were not made out of organic ingredients, which was very important to me. I decided to make my own and began experimenting with different formulas until I created one that actually worked. Best of all, it only included six organic ingredients and even withheld the strong Miami heat.
Unfortunately, my husband passed away ten months after his diagnosis, leaving me a widow with a two-year-old son at the age of 31. I was determined to turn pain into purpose and created AndyO Organics as a way to help others remove toxins from their daily life and donate five percent of all proceeds to cancer research. It truly is a passion project for me and each deodorant is handcrafted with love.
Has it been a smooth road?
My background is in Broadcast Journalism, so making the switch to become a business owner was definitely a learning curve. Although I launched my own lifestyle blog, Viva Fashion, 11 years ago and was self-employed, this was totally different. I had to learn everything from marketing, production, shipping and so much more. I’m always up for a challenge, so I’ve really enjoyed the learning process.

AndyO Organics is an organic deodorant line. We specialize in creating a product with simple yet effective ingredients that will not compromise our health. Each deodorant is handcrafted with just six ingredients including organic coconut oil, organic shea butter and organic tea tree oil.
We are a company based on giving back and we are proud to donate 5 percent of all proceeds to cancer research. We hope to keep expanding our product line and provide better options for those looking for clean products.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Being a born and raised “Miamian,” I love everything about our city. I love the diversity and culture. I love having the beach close by, even though I probably won’t make it to the beach as much as I’d like (like every good Miami native ha).
If I had to pick one thing I disliked, it would probably be the traffic, which is why I avoid driving during rush hour like the plague haha.
