Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Robinson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Brianna. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Growing up, I have always been involved in sports. In high school, I sustained an injury during softball practice which means I had to go see our Athletic Trainer. During treatment and my rehabilitation protocol, she was thorough which I appreciated because it showed me that she cared. I wanted to do the same for others and now I am as an Athletic Trainer myself.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road was definitely bumpy, but I did not let obstacles prevent me from reaching my goal. After receiving my bachelor’s, I knew I had to continue my education and receive my Masters in Athletic Training in order to begin my career. I was sure to keep my GPA up and complete all my prerequisite courses in a timely manner. Graduate school was challenging, but I overcame those challenges with the help of family and friends.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
As an Athletic Trainer, I have the ability to travel and provide treatment and rehabilitation services for physically active individuals. So far, I have travelled from Doral all the way to West Palm Beach on different occasions simply to provide medical coverage for sports teams. I have even had friends ask me for help and I honestly don’t mind. I love what I do. Which that said, I create rehabilitation programs and provide manual therapy, cupping, flush massage, deep tissue massage, and more.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moments each time they occur are being a part of getting the athletes get back to their “norm”. For example, being able to walk/run with ease and continue doing what makes them happy.
