Meet Brett Benza of EazyO

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brett Benza.

Brett, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My background is in finance and I spent 28 years on Wall Street. We did a lot of clients entertaining in South Beach, which is why I have owned a home here for 11 years. While frequenting a lot of the major venues, it was very obvious they all had the same challenges regarding their service model at both the beach and pool locations. I felt like technology had reached a point where we could help solve this issue and give guests a better ordering experience. EazyO has done that and increased revenue at the same time.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We are disrupting a 100-year-old service model. If I had told you 5 years ago you would be riding home in the back seat of a stranger’s personal car you would have thought I was crazy. Uber and others have been very successful at solving the same types of the issue we are solving. We can already see the benefits of using technology with this customer focus as guests love the seamless experience of ordering via the mobile app.

EazyO – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are doing a very common thing in a very uncommon way. We have a hand to change an industry by providing guests a better order experience on vacation while also increasing revenue at our partner’s hotels. That’s a win/win situation and it feels good.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Our partner venues deserve a lot of credit for seeing the vision and recognizing where they could improve. We started with some of the biggest resorts in South Florida like Fontainebleau Miami Beach and Boca Raton Resort and Club. The senior management at these venues is state-of-the-art thinkers and willing to try a new approach if it’s about guest satisfaction. That has been a huge part of the successful integration of our app.
