Meet Bayley Davis-Ramos of Ardor Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bayley Davis-Ramos.

Bayley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am where I am today because I took opportunities. I took both big and little opportunities.

As far back as I can remember, I wanted to work for myself. In college I wrote a paper about my plans to open a consulting firm during my freshman year. Soon after graduating with a Bachelors in Marketing and entering the workforce, I realized I didn’t have to wait until I was 40, I could begin right away.

I accepted any and every marketing project that was offered to me and grew from there. Most requests were for social media which is when I realized I’m not competing with anyone that has 20 years of experience.

This leveled the playing field for someone like me to compete with big advertising firms. In 2014 I incorporated Ardor Consulting and it’s been an adventure for the past 3 and 1/2 years. I am very thankful for every job I have been given, from designing a website when I was first learning photo-shop to managing yearlong campaigns with international companies, each project has helped me grow.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No way!

I can only speak for myself, but in my experience, being a business owner is probably never completely smooth sailing. At first, I was the secretary, salesman, marketing manager, accountant, and CEO. I learned quickly, you can’t be everything and you certainly can’t be the best at everything. Once I let go of certain areas of my business that were taking up too much time and not enabling me to be productive my business grew.

Another struggle I faced was learning to be true to my brand. This is the struggle of many of my clients and I had to practice what I preach. My business model is not like many other businesses so I cannot compare or follow set protocol for success. Our company caters to client’s needs, we meet regularly to review our progress, and ultimately grow together as a team. This was what has made us successful and something I can never deter from.

Please tell us about Ardor Consulting.
Ardor Consulting is a full-service marketing company that customizes its services to each client’s needs. We meet with our clients and create a plan that fits their needs and budgets and adjust it as we accomplish our goals.

I am proud of how many clients we have been able to maintain over 3 1/2 short years.

Our clients are loyal to us and because we work closely together to become part of their team we are able to form a relationship for years to come.

We are not like most advertising, public relations, or digital marketing companies, we consider ourselves a part of our client’s team and think long term. Building a trusting relationship is very important to us. Most of our clients meet with me, the CEO, weekly. I make myself available so we can accomplish more together.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Truthfully (and probably a little passé) … nothing. I made some mistakes but I needed to learn those lessons in order to be where I am today.
