Meet Azia Harry of AJs Sugar Rush in Miramar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Azia Harry.

Azia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The thought came from when I wanted to learn to make treats for my son’s birthday party. So, one of my coworkers gave me the opportunity to make treats for an office celebration. The treats were a hit! I’ve built my clients from word of mouth or family and friends. I currently started to bake. I truly enjoy making treats and baked goods. The look on customers faces once they taste my products are priceless

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe in the beginning it’s never a smooth road. Learning time management and practicing to dip the treats. Practice makes perfect!!!! Also, having patience when it comes to gaining clients and continuous business. Never give up and remain humble.

Please tell us about AJs Sugar Rush – what should we know?
I specialized in candy apples, chocolate covered Oreos, strawberries, cake pops, and pretzels.

I’m proud that I took the leap of faith and started the business. I was nervous to start because I know there’s other out there who makes treats but with the support of my husband and best friend, I was able to start and I’m happy I did.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I believe, remaining humble and being a continuous learner is the most important. There’s always something new to learn or a new trend out there.
