Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonio Chagin.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
When I was 10 I was given a Kodak camera which was the excuse too many great innocent photographs. Since then I haven’t been able to leave the camera behind, it’s been a long journey with photography.
Photography is a passion which took me traveling and working in different places. Caracas, San Francisco, London, Bournemouth, Vancouver, Santa Fe and Miami.
My specialties: Hotels, Architecture and Interior Design.
Please tell us about your art.
I photograph spaces of any kind, my vision is totally geometrical, I see and fill the spaces, the relations between them and the context therein then comes the light, I don’t photograph until I see that light the magical one.
Processing and post processing should only be to enhance what is there, I don’t believe in artificially adding stuff. My job is to communicate these spaces and my thoughts about it. I’m usually standing on this earth but now I discovered the bird’s view. Now I can see what they see, I have a drone!
Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
I think every country has a different view of what is art. If you go to Vancouver and see the galleries there is totally different to what you see in Miami or London. I like the avant-garde design and is probably where I look to get inspiration.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I have a website which is my main marketing tool and Instagram.
