Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Bonanno.
Anna, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
It wasn’t a surprise that I would have started working in the health field.
I have always been passionate about “all things natural”. I grew up in a house where we always had plants of Aloe Vera that could be useful for different things, so natural healing was part of my daily life.
I got a degree in Architecture 14 years ago in Venice (Italy), and almost right away, I started studying a master’s in Sustainable Architecture (all things natural always in my mind!). In this course, I met a wonderful Naturopath Doctor that was doing a lecture to us one day, and shortly after that, he became MY doctor. He taught me so many things related to Health and to how our body works, and so my passion for Natural Healing kept growing.
After a few years, I decided to get a certification in Nutrition and Eating Behaviors in the University of Turin (Italy), since at that point of my life, I had decided that I wanted to work in the Health and Wellness field, so I got back to the books and started studying everything that was related to the huge world that is Health, Nutrition and the benefits to our body.
During this period of time, I met another amazing doctor that had a specialization in Nutrition and Aloe Vera.
Life kept putting incredible people in my path, that became friends and mentors to me, which taught me so much and most of all gave me the strength to follow my passion in life: Helping others through Nutrition.
One year ago, I became a Certified Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York, and for the past three years that I have lived here in Miami, I have met amazing persons that work in the Health and Wellness field and we have started also collaborations between us… so, life just keeps getting better!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey through Health and Wellness started while I was working full time as an Architect, so no, it wasn’t easy. It took many nights spent studying (and that hasn’t changed much now that I am working on it!) but the feeling of being able to work on your passions is totally worth it!
And on top of that, you can add the fact that changing your carrier to a totally different field (from Architecture to the Health) may lead to a lot of people to start questioning you or your choices. But the important thing has been that everybody has noticed that my soul is set on fire while I am helping others, coaching them to be the better version of themselves through nutrition.
What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I am a Certified Health Coach and a Purium Superfoods Educator.
I specialize in Gut Health with food.
My goal is to help people become the healthiest, happiest versions of themselves through our 6-week program.
Also, by sharing simple recipes and health tips in my social media, I show people that there is no need to stop eating your favorite food, you just need to substitute the fake stuff for real, organic, wholesome ingredients.
It is incredible how quickly our bodies respond when you start feeding them with real food!
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Each testimonial that I receive from the people I coach fills my heart with joy and so much happiness!
Been able to change people’s life is the best feeling for me!
