Inspiring Conversations with Susana Campanella of Gluteboost

Today we’d like to introduce you to Susana Campanella.

Hi Susana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
A lot of risk and sacrifice, and an intense desire to succeed. If I were allowed to answer that question in those simple words, that would be my answer! How I got to where I am today meant having to make a lot of drastic decisions along the way. My story started when I was working at the Starbucks in my college. I would work part-time and study full time, with shifts usually starting at 5am.

At the time, I had just gotten married, living 30 minutes from my college, and with one car to commute us both to work. We had to leave our apartment before sunrise, he would drop me off at the university and then head to his job. I would spend all day at the campus; open the store, which meant prepping for an hour before opening, then I would run to my classes back-to-back, have lunch on campus, have my laboratory classes in the afternoon until nighttime, and then finally wait for my husband to pick me up. I remember I would go to the third floor for study hall, but I would at times have naps with all my books opened, my arms crossed and my forehead resting on them just to pass-out for a little until next class. This was Monday through Friday until I graduated. I had no strength during the weekends but to rest… My motivation: “You’re heading to something bigger.”

That is honestly just one example of the many situations where I have had to sacrifice time and life for something bigger. My Starbucks example helped me understand that life was about sacrifices and hard, hard, hard work– and that this was the work ethic I needed to translate to my future business endeavors. Along the sacrifices I’ve taken in my life, many of them came with a lot of risk. But knowing risk was present in every circumstance, I knew somehow I needed to make it work. So, I started to make decisions that would empower me to reach my goals sooner and that would keep me focused with success.

It has now been 12 years since working at Starbucks, and I am now the owner and Chief Executive Officer at an amazing Health and Beauty eCommerce company called Gluteboost. The work ethic I learned 12 years ago is now being reflected in not only the job I do but also what I expect from anyone that works with me. It has been an adventurous ride, for sure, but one with many responsibilities. What is truly special about my experience now with Gluteboost is how this business venture (after many other ones from different industries) has nicely coalesced with my analytical skills and science academic background.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road—at all, especially when you are trying to raise a family as well. Being a serial entrepreneur demands a lot of time, a lot of thinking, and a lot of decision-making, and with three little ones in your life, it can get messy only if you are not organized. It has been in this period of my life where I have understood the necessity to have impeccable time management skills and deep organizational skills. Family has added to my degree of responsibilities, but it has also improved me as an entrepreneur as I learn to be more strict with these aforementioned skills.

I believe the biggest obstacles one can have, are the ones in our minds. It is not about the amount of tasks we have, or our inability to perform them, it’s about the effort we are willing to put in and our attitude towards them. I think I will always continue to face obstacles, but I also think the obstacles will always be there to make me better in some particular way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

We have been lied about how the only way to accomplish this is by either surgery or extreme exercise, and that is so not true! We have developed different sets of products (brands) that have been carefully formulated, in an organic and all-natural way, to provide real results. At Gluteboost, we are adamant about the importance of explaining our customers the science behind all of our products in a clear and understandable way that enamors our customers to the validity that exists in them.

Gluteboost wants to be the answer to that beautiful Hourglass Figure so desired by many today. All our products are targeted for boosting results where you want to enhance the most. We also want to invite our customers to a healthier and fitness-driven lifestyle. We are determined to give our customers high-quality ingredients that can also provide great health benefits, all accomplished in the most natural and effective way!

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My husband! He is the COO of Gluteboost and he is all about results. He definitely deserves credit; where I have been the one redirecting the company vision as a whole, he has helped empower the company team with the skills and the drive needed to get the daily stuff done and done right.
